Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, witnessed the launch of the “Awareness Program on Administrative, Financial, and Legal Affairs in the Education Sector” for the first batch of graduates of the presidential initiative, “1,000 School Principals.” Which extends during the period from 11/5/2023 to 11/16/2023.

At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed that the graduates of the presidential initiative are the nucleus of bringing about the desired development in school administration, noting that the responsibility placed on them is great and the Ministry supports them in all possible ways to make their lofty mission a success.

Dr. Reda Hegazy continued that the Ministry was keen for the new principals to receive the awareness program out of its keenness to make them aware of the various administrative, financial and legal affairs related to the Ministry, the educational directorates and administrations, and the educational sector as a whole, calling on them to invest in this opportunity, prove their presence and success, and engage in schools to bring about a qualitative shift in the various schools in Egypt, noting. These principals are the beginning of the desired change in school management and improving their performance.

The Minister reviewed the achievements of the Ministry of Education in the pre-university education sector over the past years, where he explained the strategic axes for developing the pre-university education sector, the development of government spending on pre-university education, the development of school buildings, their quality, and their technological equipment. He also reviewed the steps for developing educational curricula, both in terms of It relates to general education or technical education, enhancing digital content, developing evaluation systems, implementing student activities, paying attention to the teacher and sustainable professional development for teachers and administrators, as well as reviewing the ministry’s efforts in the file of literacy and community education.

The Minister also stressed the role of the new directors in raising awareness of the great efforts made by the Egyptian state to develop education, noting that the education file represents a national security issue and that is why the political leadership was keen to place this file at its top priority out of its belief that building the human being is the basis for achieving development and progress.

Dr. Reda Hegazy pointed out the importance of the role of new directors in educating students about the basic issues of the Egyptian state, the most important of which is the development of loyalty and belonging and the exercise of rights and citizenship, as well as water and environmental security and climate change, which students must be sufficiently familiar with and the challenges that result from them, in addition to To the need to inform them of the national projects undertaken by the state in various sectors throughout the country.

The minister added that a training package entitled “The Role of the School in Activating Citizenship” will be implemented, which targets school principals, teachers, psychologists and social workers, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Administration, and the Secretary of the Student Union in the Administration, which includes awareness of national projects, the achievements of the Egyptian state, the meaning of citizenship and positivity, and practicing rights, as well as the trainees' implementation of the implementation plan.

Dr. Reda Hegazy concluded his speech to the new principals by saying: “We trust in your ability to transform your schools into shining models...and your success will be achieved to the extent of your abilities to face challenges and create ideas to overcome them.”

For her part, Dr. Rabab Zidane praised Dr. Reda Hegazy’s interest, his full support for the graduates of the initiative and his keenness on its success, noting that these young bloods who have been trained and qualified undertake a difficult task, as the school is only a director and reform always begins from the school.

She added that the awareness program aims to develop the skills of new managers and make them aware of all financial, administrative and legal affairs in the education sector.

The first day of the training program today included a lecture delivered by Walid Maher, Director General of the General Administration of Political Communication in the Ministry, about the nature of the work of the House of Representatives and the Senate, the nature of communication between the Ministry and the two Houses, and how to benefit from that in schools. Also delivered were Yousry Mahmoud, Director General of the General Administration of Human Resources, and Sayed Al-Halawani from the Administration. General Human Resources lecture on the importance of employing human resources and benefiting from them in schools.

The awareness program includes a number of introductory lectures on the various departments of the Ministry and the nature of their work, as well as awareness-raising on ways to confront rumours, as well as a field visit to a number of distinguished and effective schools that are nominated by the directors of the educational directorates, each within the scope of his specialization.
