Launch of the Egyptian Schools League
As part of the Ministerial Group for Human Development, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education, launched the Egyptian Schools League through the Egyptian School Sports Federation and in cooperation with Stadat Company.
This league returns after a ten-year hiatus, taking place in school playgrounds and youth centers, targeting middle and high school students. This comes as part of the National Youth and Sports Strategy 2025-2032.
The launch ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohamed Gebran, Minister of Labor, and Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy, Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs. This reflects the ministerial group's commitment to enhancing the role of school sports in building students' character and developing their physical and mental capabilities.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, emphasized that the ministerial group aims to invest in the physical, mental, and psychological development of Egyptians. He explained that the league encourages physical activity, contributes to the prevention of diseases associated with lack of movement, and promotes a healthy and productive lifestyle.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi said that school sports are a fundamental pillar for discovering talent and honing students' skills. He noted that the Egyptian Schools League supports the expansion of sports practice and links it to the educational system, contributing to enhancing students' physical and mental fitness.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif pointed out that the relaunch of the league reflects the state's belief in the importance of sports as an integral part of the educational process, as it instills the values of discipline, teamwork, and belonging, and contributes to preparing generations capable of creativity and excellence.
Mr. Seif El Waziri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Stadat, stated that the company is proud of its partnership with the two ministries to provide a professional organization befitting students, with a focus on providing advanced sports infrastructure and equal opportunities for participation, supporting the discovery of talent and expanding the base of sports practice.
