The Minister of Education and the Governor of Qalyubia follow up on the progress of the educational process
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, accompanied by Engineer Ayman Mohamed Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, began the new 2025/2026 academic year this morning. They followed up on the progress of the educational process in a number of schools in Qalyubia Governorate and ensured that classes were running smoothly from the first day.
The Minister was accompanied during the tour by Dr. Ahmed El-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister of Education for Strategic Planning and Follow-up and Supervisor of the Central Administration for Minister's Office Affairs.
The Minister and the Governor began the tour with a visit to Al-Shaimaa Secondary School for Girls, affiliated with the Banha Education Directorate, which enrolls approximately 1,200 students. This visit aimed to monitor the progress of the educational process.
During the visit, the Minister was keen to meet with the students and their parents before they entered school. He congratulated them on the start of the new academic year and spoke with them about their choice of the General Secondary Education System or the Baccalaureate Certificate System. He explained the advantages of the Baccalaureate System and the multiple opportunities and diverse paths it offers students, enhancing their capabilities and preparing them for a better future.
The Minister, accompanied by the Governor, also attended the morning assembly, the flag salute at the school, and the students' sports training.
During the visit, the Minister and the Governor inspected the first-year secondary school classes and conducted a dialogue with the students about the introduction of programming and artificial intelligence into the curriculum. He explained that this subject will be taught via the specialized Japanese "Koiro" platform, as part of the Ministry's plan to develop curricula and equip students with modern skills that align with the requirements of the digital revolution and the global labor market. He noted that students will take exams through the platform and, at the end of their studies, will receive an internationally accredited certificate that will open up broad horizons in future technology fields. He directed the students to focus on this subject, which he described as "the language of the future."
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized that the teaching profession is the "mother of all professions," as teachers are primarily responsible for preparing students for various career paths in the future.
The Minister also met with the school's teachers and congratulated them on the beginning of the school year. He emphasized that all the Ministry's decisions are based on the field, with the participation of teachers, who are the primary partners in developing the educational process.
The Minister, accompanied by the Governor, also visited Ibn Khaldoun Elementary School, which enrolls approximately 1,090 students. He inspected the kindergarten classrooms and several first-grade classrooms, ensuring the smooth running of the educational process and the delivery of textbooks to students on the first day of school.
The Minister instructed teachers to explain the new curricula in a simple and straightforward manner, ensuring students grasp the basic concepts and achieve the highest levels of academic achievement.
The Minister then visited Imam Mohamed Abdo Elementary School, affiliated with the Banha Education Directorate, where he inspected the kindergarten classrooms and first-grade classrooms, emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to providing an attractive and safe learning environment for students from the early stages of school.
During the tour, the Minister directed attention to developing reading, writing, and arithmetic skills for early grade students, as they are the foundation for shaping their educational personality. He also directed the activation of classroom and extracurricular activities that foster creativity and a sense of belonging among students.
He also directed close follow-up by school principals and supervisors to ensure regular classes and optimal implementation of modern curricula.
The Minister also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of teachers and school administrations in preparing for the start of the school year.
For his part, Engineer Ayman Mohamed, Governor of Qalyubia, expressed his happiness at participating with his students and teachers in the start of the new school year, emphasizing that the governorate places great importance on education as the engine of development and the gateway to human development.
The Governor indicated that the governorate's agencies are working in continuous coordination with the Ministry of Education to provide a safe and well-equipped educational environment by completing maintenance work, upgrading schools, and providing the necessary school furniture and educational tools, ensuring regular classes from day one.
