Minister of Education Approves High School Exam Results with 79.2% Pass Rate (New System) and 72.7% (Old System))

 

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, approved the results of the first round of the General Secondary Certificate Examinations for the 2024/2025 academic year. The results showed a 79.2% pass rate under the new system and 72.7% under the old system.

The total number of applicants for the first round of exams under the new and old systems was 785,099 students, of whom 728,892 attended, and 574,347 passed.

For the new system for the Science and Mathematics division, 451,453 students took the first-round exams, of whom 417,260 attended. 332,183 students passed, for a total success rate of 79.6%.

For the Science and Mathematics division (new system), 112,619 students took the first-round exams, of whom 107,947 attended. 92,594 students passed, for a total success rate of 85.8%.

174,171 students took the first-round exams for the Arts division (new system). 159,434 students attended. 117,407 students passed, for a total success rate of 73.6%.

Regarding the old system, the total number of applicants for the first-round exams was 46,856 students, of whom 44,251 attended, and 32,163 passed, representing a total success rate of 72.7%.

The number of applicants for the Science (Old System) division was 30,800 students, of whom 29,008 attended, and 21,212 passed, representing a success rate of 73.1%.

As for the Science (Old System) division, the number of applicants was 5,059 students, of whom 4,678 attended, and 3,201 passed, representing a success rate of 68.4%.

As for the literary section, the number of applicants was 10,997 students, the number of attendees was 10,565 students, and the number of successful students was 7,750 students, with a success rate of 73.4%.
