Under the auspices of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, the Ministry of Education held a workshop entitled "Strategic Planning for Technical Education 2024", to discuss the future plan and develop the strategy for technical education according to Egypt's Vision 2030, with development partners (the German Agency for International Cooperation, the German Development Bank, the Egyptian Workforce Project, the United States Agency for International Development, the European Union).

This was attended by representatives of development partners, where the German Agency for International Cooperation "GIZ" participated, Andreas Adian, Head of the Technical Education and Labor Market Sector, Shahira Wassef, Head of the Technical Education and Labor Market Sector and Director of the Migration File, Cora Guttmann, Director of the Employment Support Project, and Torsten Klink, Director of the Technical Support Project for the Comprehensive Technical Education Initiative with Egypt. Mohamed Fawzy, Director of the Egyptian Workforce Project, Andreas Drenbach, Director of the Technical Education Project to Support New and Renewable Energy for GOPA, Dr. Ahlam Farouk, Director of Vocational Education and Training Programs for the European Union, Shiraz Shakra, Head of the Education Department at UNICEF, and Dr. Rasha Sharaf, Professor of Comparative and International Education and Educational Administration at the Faculty of Education, Helwan University and Secretary-General of the Education Fund at the Cabinet. From the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ayman Bahaa, Deputy Minister, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Director of the Operation and Management Unit of Applied Technology Schools, Dr. Mohamed Amara, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Schools, and Dr. Ashraf Bahjat, Head of the Central Administration for the Academy of Education Teachers participated. Technical, representatives of the Ministry of Education and representatives of development partners.

In his speech, Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister, welcomed the attendees, noting that this is the first time that this edifice of development partners meets with the ministry, stressing that human power is the most important source of income for the Egyptian state.

The Deputy Minister pointed out that the ministry is completing the strategic plan for technical education, which began a long time ago, explaining that this strategy is based on five main axes in cooperation with development partners, explaining that this workshop aims to discuss all the steps that have been implemented on the ground to achieve the strategic plan 2.0 in technical education.

The Deputy Minister stressed the state's and political leadership's support for technical education, its development, providing equal opportunities for all Egyptians, developing the Egyptian economy, and creating a generation capable of competing in the labor market.

Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din added that the ministry has developed the current strategic plan, which included five main axes, to include 10 main axes and modifying some sub-goals, to become basic axes, in addition to general goals that have been translated into a group of projects that reached 120 projects; Pointing out that the workshop includes a detailed review of these projects with the participation of a large number of industrial partners and the role of each partner with the aim of combining all efforts to achieve sustainable development.

For his part, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Director of the Operation and Management Unit of Applied Technology Schools, appreciated the efforts of all workers and experts involved in the field of technical education, stressing that the Ministry of Education and Technical Education is one of the largest ministries that provide educational and educational services to our students in the field of technical education, as it has rebuilt curricula based on content only to curricula based on the methodology of competencies based on sustainable skills, professional skills and knowledge, in addition to training and qualifying technical education teachers, as well as focusing on the participation of the private sector in the field of technical education in an effective manner in the field of development, providing new unprecedented specializations for technical education, and improving mental images of the field of technical education, reviewing the percentages of students in technical education schools in Egypt, in addition to methods of controlling the technical education process with various parties.

Dr. Amr Basila stressed the importance of cooperation and involvement of the private sector in all stages of technical education in Egypt, through workshops to develop curricula with the participation of major companies operating in these fields, unions and various chambers according to the competencies required for the labor market, in addition to participating in the management of applied technology schools and participating in preparing curricula and participating in the testing process.

Dr. Amr Basila pointed out that the ministry seeks to increase the number of applied technology schools, as it started in 2018 with 3 schools and reached 82 schools today, noting that our students are ambassadors for these schools and represent a boom in technical education.

The workshop program included the progress and achievements made in various fields of technical education, presentations from work teams and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, development partners, and major achievements through the German Agency for International Cooperation, and major achievements through the Egyptian Workforce Project, the United States Agency for International Development, the European Union, and the achievements of the German Development Bank regarding centers of excellence.

The workshop program included progress and achievements in various areas of technical education, presentations by working groups and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, development partners, key achievements through the German Agency for International Cooperation, key achievements through the Egyptian Workforce Project, USAID, the European Union, and achievements of the German Development Bank regarding centers of excellence.

The workshop also included open discussions on the results of the evaluation of the Technical Education Strategy 2.0, and the new strategy for technical education.

The workshop also included the results and recommendations, which included updating the progress made in various areas through the working groups, discussing the results of the evaluation of the Technical Education Strategy 2.0 conducted by the European Training Foundation, reaching a deeper common understanding of the new strategy for technical education, participating in the initial steps towards developing a final action plan for the new strategy and determining the role of each party.
