Minister of Education inspects preparations for converting two schools in Ghamra and Qasr Al-Aini
As part of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education's plan to expand Egyptian-Japanese schools, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, today inspected two schools in the Ghamra and Qasr Al-Aini areas to review the latest developments in the preparations for their conversion into Egyptian-Japanese schools, in preparation for their opening in the next academic year 2025/2026.
This comes as part of the opening of 14 new Egyptian-Japanese schools during the next academic year 2025/2026, which offer the same distinguished educational quality as the Egyptian-Japanese school system nationwide. The new schools are scheduled to welcome students during the start of the new academic year.
During the tour, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif affirmed that the Ministry is intensifying its efforts to expand the Egyptian-Japanese school system across various governorates, given the remarkable success achieved by this distinguished system in terms of discipline, the quality of the educational process, and the high student turnout. He emphasized that the opening of 14 new Egyptian-Japanese schools falls within the framework of the political leadership's directives to expand this pioneering model across Egypt's governorates.
During his inspection of the two schools, the Minister directed the rapid completion of all logistical preparations and adherence to the standard specifications of the Egyptian-Japanese school model as soon as possible, in preparation for their opening and welcoming students during the new academic year.
The Minister also commended all efforts made to accelerate the completion of equipment for these schools, noting that expanding this distinguished educational model is a top priority for the Ministry of Education.
The new Egyptian-Japanese schools are scheduled to open in October 2025. They include schools located in Cairo Governorate in the areas of Sayeda Zeinab, Rod El Farag, Abbassia, and Zeitoun (two schools), Zahraa Nasr City, Ghamra, Kasr El Aini, and Badr, and Karma 2 School in the Fifth Settlement. A school will also be opened in the Demera Talkha area in Dakahlia Governorate, a school in New Damietta City, a school in Minya Al Qamh in Sharqia Governorate, and a school in Juhayna City in Sohag Governorate.
The opening of Egyptian-Japanese schools in the heart of Cairo represents a new phase and a qualitative leap in the project, reflecting the planned expansion of this distinguished educational model into densely populated areas and meeting the growing demand from parents for this type of education.

On the sidelines of his visit to the two schools scheduled to be converted into Egyptian-Japanese schools, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif inspected the Qasr El-Aini Primary School, affiliated with the Sayeda Zeinab Education Directorate, where he inspected the classrooms and maintenance work.
The Minister praised the efforts made to carry out maintenance work within the school. He also emphasized the importance of implementing all directives related to planting trees and completing painting work before welcoming students at the beginning of the new school year.
The Minister was accompanied during his tour by Major General Engineer Yousry Salem, Assistant Minister for Educational Buildings Affairs; Dr. Ahmed El-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning and Follow-up and Supervisor of the Central Administration for Minister's Office Affairs; and Ms. Nevin Hamouda, Advisor to the Minister for Strategic Relations and Supervisor of the Egyptian-Japanese Schools Unit.
