Minister of Education chairs the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Fund

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, chaired today the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Fund for Supporting, Financing, Managing and Constructing Educational Projects, to discuss the support and financing requests submitted to the Board, as well as follow up on the status of the projects financed by the Fund in various governorates of the Republic, and present the combined support requests submitted to the Fund.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed the importance of the role of the Fund for Supporting, Financing, Managing and Constructing Educational Projects in establishing, equipping, maintaining and renovating schools, facilities and educational centers within the framework of the national plan for economic and social development and the state's general policy in the field of education, appreciating the efforts and achievements of the Fund in the past period, and its support for the most important educational projects, noting that we always seek to develop the Fund's resources.
During the meeting, Mohamed Sami, Assistant Minister for Education Projects Support, Financing, Management and Construction Fund Affairs, reviewed several topics, including the approval of the draft planning budget for the General Fund for Fiscal Year 2025/2026, which included all revenues, new constructions, completion and expansion of projects, and support for the technological component, stressing that it was discussed with the Ministry of Finance and the budget estimates were agreed upon.
During the meeting, the council was briefed on the ministry's support to contribute to financing the teachers' deficit for the academic year 2024/2025.
The ministry's support to pay part of the printing and supply of school books for the academic year 2024/2025 was also approved.
The meeting witnessed approval to support the Luxor Education Directorate regarding printing exams using the booklet system, as well as supporting the directorate in connecting utilities (electricity - drinking water - sewage) to the new directorate building, in addition to supporting the directorate in connecting utilities (water and sewage) to the School for the Gifted in Luxor.
The Board of Directors also approved additional support for the Alexandria Education Directorate to complete the project to establish the Montazah Educational Administration headquarters, as well as approval of additional support for the South Sinai Education Directorate to complete the development and efficiency improvement works of the old directorate building.
The Board of Directors also approved the disbursement of the last installment of the support appropriation allocated to establish (2) educational classes for ship simulation at the Port Said Education Directorate.
The Council was also briefed on the executive position of the national project to replace school desks with funding from the Fund during the academic years from 2022/2023 to 2024/2025.
The approval of the General Authority for Educational Buildings support to connect electricity facilities to (4) schools in a school complex in the Bulaq Al-Dakrour area to enter the educational service, which includes 10 schools, was also discussed.
Approval was also given to the General Authority for Educational Buildings to complete the maintenance project of the School of Excellence in Science and Technology in Fayoum Governorate.
This was attended by Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister, Mohamed Sami, Assistant Minister for Education Projects Support, Financing, Management and Construction Fund Affairs, Brigadier General Tarek El-Baz, Head of the Central Administration for Educational Centers and Complexes, Brigadier General Ahmed Nabil, Head of the Central Administration for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Counselor Fathy Saleh Hussein, Legal Advisor, Major General Mahmoud Hindi, Head of the Central Administration for Inspection and Director of the Government Department at the Ministry of Local Development, Yasser Ahmed Abbas, Head of the Investment Services Sector at the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, Mr. Anwar Abdel Rashid Shehata, representative of the Ministry of Finance, and the Council Secretariat represented by Accountant Mohamed Hussein Ahmed and Accountant Mahmoud Younis Ibrahim at the Education Projects Support, Financing, Management and Construction Fund.
