The Minister of Education holds an expanded meeting with the heads of the preparatory certificate examination committees

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held an expanded meeting today with the heads of the preparatory certificate examination committees across the republic's governorates; In the presence of the directors of the directorates and educational administrations, to review the executive procedures and preparations related to the mid-year exams of the current academic year 2024/2025 for the preparatory certificate, scheduled to be held starting from January 18.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif praised the efforts made by all directors of the directorates and educational administrations in all governorates of the republic, stressing the ministry's success in facing the challenge of the problem of student density, the deficit in the number of teachers, the return of students to schools and the increase in attendance rates to more than 85% this year.
The Minister also pointed out that Egypt's teachers are distinguished and their efficiency is witnessed by the world and they deserve appreciation for their efforts for the future of our students, stressing that the ministry supports and supports those who work efficiently and distinguishedly.
The Minister stressed the importance of these meetings in light of the interest in clarifying visions and listening to the opinions of all those responsible for the educational process, and implementing the decisions reached by these meetings and discussions to develop solutions and address the challenges facing the educational process.
The Minister said: "We work together in making decisions that are made with the participation and combined efforts of all parties to the educational process and for the benefit of students and teachers, and we make our decisions in partnership with you."
During the meeting, the Minister stressed several points related to the progress of the examination system, during which he stressed the responsibility of the heads of committees to ensure that the preparatory certificate exams proceed in an appropriate manner, and that there is discipline in the examination committees, explaining that the lack of discipline in these committees under any circumstances is completely unacceptable.
The Minister stressed the Ministry's keenness to ensure discipline in order to preserve the interest of students and achieve equal opportunities, in addition to educating students in a disciplined manner, because exams are a major and essential criterion for teaching our children discipline, noting that the head of the committee is the leader of discipline within the examination committees, and must work through the regulations and mechanisms set by the Ministry.
In this context, the Minister stressed the need to deal decisively with any violation, also stressing the need to take all measures related to preventing the entry of mobile phones and electronic devices into examination committees.
During the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif announced that the value of the supervision allowance in the preparatory certificate exams has been raised from 25 pounds to 130 pounds, in order to support teachers and preserve their rights, and ensure that they perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
The Minister pointed out that the Ministry is working during the coming period to solve the shortage of administrators and provide security and cleaning workers inside schools.
The meeting witnessed a lengthy discussion, during which the Minister listened to the various obstacles facing committee heads during the exams and proposed appropriate solutions.
The meeting also discussed enhancing ways to secure examination committees in coordination with security agencies and governors to ensure the discipline of the examination process.
For their part, the committee heads praised the continuous periodic meetings that the Minister is keen to hold with various parties in the educational system to raise challenges and ways to solve them with realistic mechanisms.
