The Minister of Education receives the President and CEO of the American University Admission Testing Authority (ACT))

Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Janet Goodwin, President and CEO of the American University Admission Testing Authority (ACT), and her accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two sides.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the attendees, praising the role of the American University Admissions Tests (ACT) and the high confidence that this diploma enjoys in Egypt.

The Minister praised the fact that 500 Egyptian students from Egyptian schools obtained final scores on the ACT tests out of 15,000 students across the Middle East, stressing that our students obtaining this percentage is a tremendous achievement.

The Minister indicated that the Ministry aims to develop the secondary stage system, calling on the American University Admission Testing Authority (ACT) to participate in the conference that the Ministry will launch under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to hold a community dialogue on the mechanisms related to developing the secondary stage system, which will include all parties related to the educational system.

For her part, the President and CEO of the ACT delegation expressed her happiness at this meeting, stressing the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and appreciating the Ministry’s efforts in developing the educational process and good supervision of international education.

Janet Goodwin reviewed the history of the body, which was established in 1959 with the aim of supporting and assisting outstanding students in achieving their future and enrolling in the colleges they desire, noting that this year 1.3 million students took the ACT exam worldwide.

The President and CEO of the delegation of the American University Admission Testing Authority (ACT) affirmed the authority’s keenness to achieve quality due to its belief in discovering students’ abilities, as well as achieving discipline during the course of the exams, in addition to supporting about 250,000 exam applicants with special needs before, during and after the exams, in addition to the program. Which was prepared by the Authority to provide assistance to millions of students to enroll in suitable jobs.

The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation with the American University Admission Testing Authority to provide services and scholarships to students of schools for excellence in science and technology (STEM) and the School of Geniuses, which is an advanced model of STEM schools, and includes the top students in the first year of these schools nationwide.

The meeting was attended by the American University Admission Testing Authority (ACT), Shane King, the Authority’s Executive Director of Operations, Andrew Taylor, the Authority’s Vice President of Markets and Product Management, and Dr. Hossam Ezz El-Din, Resources Consultant for the Middle East and North Africa.

On the part of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister for Technological Development, Dr. Sherine Hamdi, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration of the Minister’s Office, and Iman Sabry, Assistant Minister for Special Education Affairs, attended.
