The Ministry of Education actively participates in the activities of the 57th Cairo International Book Fair
As part of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education's commitment to supporting cultural and artistic activities and fostering cultural and creative awareness among students, the Ministry, through its Central Administration for Student Activities, is actively participating in the activities of the 57th Cairo International Book Fair, held from January 21, 2026, to February 3, 2026.
The Ministry's participation in the Cairo International Book Fair stems from its vision to support activities as a fundamental pillar in building a well-rounded student, developing their cultural and intellectual awareness, and strengthening their connection to major national cultural events.
The Ministry's participation includes implementing a diverse range of activities and events organized by several specialized departments, reflecting its commitment to integrating educational and cultural roles in shaping the student's character.
In this context, the Ministry notes that the General Administration for Cultural, Artistic, and Social Activities, through its Department of Theater Education and with the participation of 360 male and female students representing various governorates, presents a diverse range of theatrical performances and segments that reflect the students' creativity and artistic talents. These performances embody purposeful educational and cultural messages, contributing to the consolidation of national belonging, the development of artistic sensibility, and the enhancement of expression, public speaking, and teamwork skills.
The Ministry also explains that the School Trips Department organizes student visits to the Cairo International Book Fair, with the participation of approximately 2,000 male and female students from the preparatory and secondary levels across different governorates. Each governorate also organizes trips for around 5,000 students during the fair, providing them with the opportunity to explore cultural and intellectual publications, cultivate a reading habit, and connect the educational process with practical cultural experiences.
In the same vein, the General Directorate of Physical and Military Education is participating in the exhibition by presenting a variety of programs and performances throughout its duration, reflecting the role of sports and military activities in developing discipline, fostering teamwork, and instilling national values in students.
The General Directorate of Libraries is also participating in the exhibition by organizing several cultural and awareness-raising events in cooperation with the Arab Reading Challenge project, with the aim of promoting a culture of reading, encouraging students to engage with books, and developing their research and reading skills.
