Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharkia, held a meeting with a number of ministry leaders, directors and deputies of educational departments, and school principals in Sharkia Governorate. To follow up on preparations for the new academic year 2024/2025, and review executive procedures to confront the challenges of student density and teacher shortages, attract students to schools, and ensure discipline in the educational process.

This came in the presence of Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Moati, Deputy Governor, Engineer Lubna Abdel Aziz, Deputy Governor, Major General Abdel Ghaffar Al-Deeb, Secretary-General of the Governorate, Mr. Muhammad Kjak, Assistant Secretary-General, the Ministry’s leaders, and Mr. Ali Abdel-Raouf, Director of the Directorate of Education. And education in the East.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif thanked the Governor of Al-Sharqiya for providing all means of support to the Ministry to implement its procedures to ensure the regularity of the educational process in the governorate during the new academic year, stressing that this meeting aims to follow up the discussion with the directors of educational departments and school principals about the various mechanisms and procedures announced. To develop the educational process, as well as emphasizing the exertion of all efforts to implement procedures related to improving the educational process in the various grades at the primary, middle, and secondary levels.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the solutions and executive procedures presented by the Ministry to address the most important challenges it faces, which are class densities, the shortage in the numbers of teachers, mechanisms for attracting students to schools, and restructuring secondary education, stressing that the Ministry is working hard to address these challenges to achieve an attractive educational process. It motivates students in the classroom by reaching the class density to the ratio that allows for an educational environment that achieves its desired goal.

The Minister also confirmed that the mechanisms that were announced to address the challenges facing the educational system resulted from many field visits and meetings with directors of educational departments, school principals and teachers, in addition to expert review of these solutions as well as the approval of the parties of the educational system, explaining that the solutions will be compatible with the nature of each administration. Educational.

With regard to treating the problem of student densities in classrooms, the Minister reviewed the Ministry’s vision and the solutions it provided, including transferring secondary schools to the evening period, and benefiting from them in the morning period of the preparatory stage, explaining that these secondary schools are technologically equipped at the highest level, and thus preparatory school students benefit from this structure. Technology in learning, and middle schools will also become exploited by primary school students, stressing that the application of these mechanisms will be flexible according to the nature and needs of each educational administration.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif also reviewed other solutions provided by the Ministry related to inventorying educational spaces in schools, in cooperation with the Educational Buildings Authority. To exploit them as classes, in a way that does not harm the educational process, in addition to using the idea of ​​the mobile classroom, as another mechanism available for implementation.

The Minister directed the directors of educational departments to seriously commit and intensify efforts to implement the announced mechanisms in accordance with the nature of the challenges in each educational department, stressing that there will be continuous field visits and follow-up by the Ministry of all executive measures taken by the directors of educational departments in light of the solutions and proposals proposed in their governorates.

The Minister also touched on the package of decisions related to evaluating performance throughout the academic year, stressing that they primarily aim to follow up on student evaluations, increase their abilities to achieve academic achievement, and develop their skills.

The minister continued that amending the school discipline regulations aims to motivate students and achieve discipline, stressing the importance of translating student behavior into grades on behavior, as well as the need for there to be an appropriate educational penalty for wrong behaviors, which results in a positive relationship between the teacher and the student.

The Minister also discussed with the audience the results of a study prepared by the National Center for Educational Research on the importance of holding an end-of-year assessment exam for students in the third grade of primary school to attract students to attend school, achieve learning outcomes, as well as help students achieve academic achievement and provide them with the necessary skills.

As for restructuring the secondary stage, the Minister explained that the Ministry’s general vision in structuring secondary education is not related to canceling or reducing subjects and adding others, but the goal is to restructure the secondary stage in accordance with international standards. To provide the teacher with the opportunity to perform a good educational process in the classroom, with a number of credit hours for the basic subjects, and to have the opportunity and time to teach the content, as well as develop students’ skills, and complete the curriculum in the allotted time; In order to prepare a generation capable of competing with other countries, he pointed out the need for education to keep pace with the labor market that is witnessing rapid changes.

The Minister explained that scientific rules were relied upon and reviewed by specialized experts, for the secondary school classes, and they were distributed in a balanced manner, in light of the learning outcomes, taking into account the absence of repetition in the content, and without neglecting the knowledge that the students will study, so as not to cause a cognitive burden on them.

For his part, Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharqiya, welcomed the minister and those present, praising the efforts of the Minister of Education, and the ministry’s plan to improve the educational process and preparations for the new academic year, stressing the governorate’s support for implementing the ministry’s vision and promoting all means to advance the educational process in the governorate.
