The Minister welcomes a study of a proposal to integrate technology into the educational process at Al-Noor Schools for the Blind and provide the necessary tools to match technological progress and distance learning

Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, affirmed that the ministry is working to provide an integrated system of services for people with special needs, in which all international standards are taken into account, indicating that the ministry puts at the top of its priorities taking all necessary measures to educate and prepare people with visual disabilities in particular, This is within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to pay attention to them and work to integrate them as active elements within society. This came during the minister's participation in a meeting of the Education, Scientific Research, Communications and Information Technology Committee in the Senate to review the ministry's plan to support students with special needs, especially students with visual disabilities, in the presence of Dr. Dr. Sahar Al-Alfi, Director General of the General Department of Special Education, Walid Maher, Director General of the General Department of Political Communication at the Ministry, and Karim Atef, Director of the Visual Education Department at the Ministry. Dr. Reda Hegazy has expressed his keenness on continuous communication by participating in these meetings that contribute to clarifying and exchanging visions, stressing the role of the Senate in supporting the development of the educational system in Egypt. The Minister of Education also reviewed the mechanisms adopted by the Ministry; To provide an integrated system of services for people with special needs and to provide all means of support for them, including the Rehabilitation Center for People with Special Needs in the Tenth of Ramadan City, which takes into account all international standards. . The minister added: "As for the visual education schools (Al-Nour Schools for the blind and visually impaired), the number in the kindergarten stage is 16 schools, in the primary stage 33 schools, in the preparatory stage 33 schools, and in the secondary stage 33 schools, comprising 3925 male and female students, indicating that the ministry is in the process of Developing the educational content of these schools, to include some educational activities and therapies in a way that suits their circumstances with the aim of investing their energies, designing programs and activities that contribute to developing their performance aspects, showing their talents and abilities, and employing their other senses without prejudice to learning outcomes. The minister also explained that he had issued a ministerial decision to amend exams for people with visual impairments to be objective by 85% and essay questions by 15%. Within the framework of the presidential initiative, Companions, “They are capable of differently,” the minister explained that the ministry has circulated guiding boards with the most frequently used signs for deaf and mute students, accompanied by a QR code that shows the movement of the sign, to all schools in the Republic. To raise community awareness, spread the culture of sign language, and facilitate their daily interactions, participation and integration into society. He also explained that the ministry had signed cooperation protocols; To support and develop the inputs of the educational process and improve the services provided to students with disabilities, in addition to developing the capabilities of teachers, and supporting the educational process by transforming some curricula using modern technology applications, such as converting some curricula of the new education system into a speaking method for the blind. During the meeting, the minister welcomed the study of the proposal submitted by Representative Mahmoud Turki, a member of the Senate for the Coordination of Youth Parties and Politicians, to sign a cooperation protocol with the Charitable Investment Fund to Support People with Disabilities “Ataa” of Nasser Social Bank and the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities with the aim of integrating technology into the educational process in schools. Light for the blind and providing the necessary tools for students that are compatible with technological progress and distance learning, including electronic line devices and supplying them to schools for the blind. At the end of the discussion, the Council's Education Committee praised the vision of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and the Ministry's efforts to support and develop services provided to students with special needs.
