Minister of Education Receives His Sudanese Counterpart)

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Dr. Al-Tohamy Al-Zein, Minister of Education of the Republic of Sudan, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields, particularly developing the educational system and exchanging expertise to improve the quality of education.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif welcomed his Sudanese counterpart, emphasizing that the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples are one people, bound by deep-rooted fraternal relations that extend throughout history in various fields, especially in the education sector. He expressed the Ministry's keenness to provide all forms of support to their brothers in Sudan and to contribute effectively to developing the educational system in the sisterly nation, thus enhancing opportunities for joint cooperation.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif indicated the Ministry's full readiness to provide support to the sisterly Republic of Sudan in several educational fields, including curriculum development, assessment and examination systems, and technical education, as well as formalizing the status of Sudanese guest schools in Egypt. This reflects the Egyptian state's keenness to strengthen frameworks for joint cooperation and the exchange of expertise in a way that serves the interests of Sudanese students.

In the field of technical education, the Minister explained that Egypt has made significant progress in developing this sector, with curricula prepared according to the latest European standards, in line with labor market demands and enhancing investment opportunities, especially in light of partnerships with the European Union. He pointed to the possibility of cooperation in this area through the exchange of expertise and the application of successful models.

For his part, Dr. Al-Tohamy Al-Zein, Minister of Education of the Republic of Sudan, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian political leadership, government, and people for their continued support of the Sudanese people. He emphasized the depth of the fraternal and historical relations that bind the two countries and praised the Egyptian state's supportive stances towards Sudan in various forums.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Egyptian government for its support of the educational process for Sudanese students, which contributes to the continuation of their studies, as well as for hosting Sudanese students and providing them with a suitable environment to pursue their education.

The Sudanese minister expressed his aspiration to strengthen joint cooperation and support efforts to rebuild and develop educational institutions in Sudan, emphasizing the importance of benefiting from Egypt's successful experience, particularly its partnership with Japan.

He also noted his country's keenness to implement the transitional programs and plans proposed by UNESCO to develop the education system in Sudan, expressing his hope for cooperation with Egypt in curriculum development, teacher capacity building through advanced training programs, and contributing to the rehabilitation of educational infrastructure. This, he stated, would ensure improved quality of education and sustainability in the Sudanese education sector.

During the meeting, it was agreed to form a joint committee from both ministries to discuss the various proposed areas of cooperation, develop practical implementation mechanisms, and monitor and evaluate progress to ensure swift implementation and tangible results as soon as possible.

The meeting was attended, on the Sudanese side, by Ambassador Lieutenant General Engineer Emad El-Din El-Adawy, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Cairo; Dr. El-Sherif Bakr, Director of the Minister's Executive Office; Dr. Assem Ahmed Hassan, Cultural Attaché; and Dr. Hossam Hussein, Second Secretary.

Also present was Minister Plenipotentiary Karim Mokhtar, Director of Sudanese Affairs at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the attendees included Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education; Dr. Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education; Dr. Ramadan Mohamed, Assistant Minister for Evaluation and Examination Systems; Dr. Akram Hassan, Assistant Minister for Curriculum Development; Ambassador Yasser Othman, Advisor to the Minister; Ambassador Salah Abdel-Sadek, Advisor to the Minister; Mr. Khaled Abdel-Hakim, Advisor to the Minister for Examinations and Supervisor of the Central Administration for Examinations; and Dr. Hala Abdel-Salam, Head of the Central Administration for General Education.
