Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, continued his continuous meetings with education officials in the State of Finland. The Minister and his accompanying delegation met yesterday, the Ambassador of Education at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Marjana Sall, and a number of representatives of Finnish schools in the early and basic education sectors, and representatives of the University of Helsinki.
A number of representatives of Finnish companies working in the field of providing educational services participated in the meeting, including FGES, in addition to Polar Partner, companies specialized in the field of knowledge transfer, curriculum development and creating an appropriate educational environment, in addition to improving educational conditions and operations in basic education stages. It also has investments in the field of education in Egypt.
The aforementioned companies reviewed their successes in investing in the field of education in Egypt, and expressed their desire to cooperate at the level of the government sector in terms of rehabilitating entire schools to benefit from the Finnish education system.
For his part, Minister of Education, Dr. Tariq Shawqi, expressed the possibility of cooperating with the Hei Educational Foundation in rehabilitating a number of government buildings for early childhood education in accordance with Finnish educational standards, which rank first in the world. It was also agreed to explore the nature of this cooperation during a visit he will make. A delegation from the Foundation at the end of this year, and Polar Partners expressed the possibility of cooperation with the Ministry of Education in the field of developing and improving education systems in primary schools, similar to the experience that the company is currently carrying out in the State of Peru, which includes the development of 75 public schools .
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Haitham Salah, Egyptian Ambassador to Helsinki, Ambassador Pekka Kosun, Ambassador of Finland in Cairo, Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, and Dr. Amr Basileh, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Operational and Management Unit for Applied Technology Schools.
The visit of the Minister of Education and Technical Education to Helsinki is the first in a series of reciprocal visits with Finnish officials, which will be agreed upon at a later time for the visit according to an action plan determined by the Ministry of Education.
