Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received today Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo; To discuss ways to support cooperation relations between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman in the field of education, and a number of files of common interest.
Dr. Tarek Shawky welcomed the Omani ambassador, stressing the depth of the relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples that extend throughout history, and Egypt's keenness to activate and increase means of cooperation between the two sides in various fields, especially education, in light of the 2019 executive program signed between the two countries.
Tariq Shawky said that the ministry aims for all workers in the pre-university education sector in all parts of the country to receive the vaccine against the Corona virus, so that the next academic year can start in the presence of schools.
The minister added that the ministry is working on more than one axis to build and develop Egyptian education, starting with the kindergarten stage, which has been implemented since 2018, noting that next October, fourth grade students will benefit from this development, which is a great revolution taking place in cooperation with major companies. In the field of education, Egypt owns the intellectual property of the new curricula, the general framework of which sets the Center for Curriculum Development, adding that for the secondary stage, the assessment system has been changed to depend on measuring the understanding of learning outcomes in light of a systematic method for measuring understanding, and the Ministry made available to students digital learning resources and the library electronic and television channels; To help them deal with new questions that measure understanding, application and analysis.
For his part, Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi praised Dr. Tarek Shawky’s efforts in making the Egyptian education system successful in light of many challenges. He also thanked for the services and facilities provided during the registration of the Omani Secondment Committee in Egypt, stressing full confidence in the Egyptian education and teacher.
He pointed out that there are (7000) Egyptian teachers in Omani schools who receive all the love and respect of the Omani people, and they receive all services and facilities like the Omani teachers. The Omani schools also include (9500) students from Egyptian communities who enjoy the same rights as Omani students.
The Omani ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to increase cooperation with Egypt in light of the distinguished and historical relations that bring together the two brotherly peoples, especially in the field of education, under the directives of the Omani political leadership and within the framework of the Oman 2040 vision, expressing his hope to exchange experiences between the two sides, and increase Cooperation to a level that achieves the aspirations and aspirations of the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed meeting the Sultanate of Oman's needs for (1,730) Egyptian female teachers in various disciplines, through the presence of the Oman Secondment and Contracting Committee in the Education City on the 6th of October, which is followed annually during the previous years, in the period from August 15 And until the end of the committee’s work, which is nearing completion after testing the candidates and passing the personal interviews, and taking the necessary measures to provide them with all the support and quickly communicate with the Egyptian Ministry of Health to receive the vaccine before they travel to the Sultanate in preparation for the start of the school year on September 20th and receive the necessary training programs.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister for Technological Development, Ilham Ibrahim, Head of the Services and Activities Sector, Sherine Hamdi, Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister's Office, Manal Mukhtar, Director General of the General Administration of Secondments, and from the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Ali Al Jawhari, Head of the Secondment Committee at the Omani Ministry of Education.
