Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, chaired the meeting of the Supreme Council of Trustees, Parents and Teachers at the republic level. To review and discuss a number of topics related to the development of the pre-university education system.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif welcomed the members of the Council, stressing the importance of the role of the Supreme Council of Trustees, Parents and Teachers in stabilizing and controlling the educational process, and that it represents one side of the triangle of the educational process consisting of the student, teacher and parents.

The Minister also stressed that the issue of education is not the issue of a single ministry, but rather a societal issue in which many parties and entities participate, noting that the Council is an essential partner as it is the legitimate representative of the opinions of parents and teachers, in addition to its role in working on the ground within schools, saying: “The strategy for the next stage requires the Council’s support, support and expertise in developing the education system, in addition to its role in raising awareness of the Ministry’s efforts, which aim to provide distinguished educational service, improve the entire system, and overcome challenges.”

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the Ministry’s efforts over the past period to establish appropriate and realistic mechanisms to develop the educational system and confront the challenges of student density, teacher shortages, and attracting students to schools, through visits to the governorates and listening to the proposals of directors of educational directorates, directors of departments, schools, and teachers for the problems facing them. The educational process, studies and solutions that have been proposed for these problems in light of the capabilities that already exist and the possibility of implementing them on the ground.

The minister said: “I am convinced that the solution to education issues and problems is achieved with the support of those working on the ground and in the field,” noting that the implementation of appropriate mechanisms will be carried out in cooperation with school principals, departments and teachers.

Regarding attracting students to schools, the Minister confirmed that the Ministry is working on a number of axes and strategies to confront the challenges, which in turn will contribute to attracting students to schools, explaining that there is also cooperation in this context with the Educational Research Center through educational studies carried out by the Center’s experts.

The Minister also touched on the school discipline regulations, noting the importance of focusing on motivating students and supporting the teacher’s message within the classroom, which is reflected in the discipline of the educational process.

The meeting witnessed a review of the proposals and opinions of Council members on the most important issues related to developing the educational process in various governorates.

Dr. Abdel Raouf Allam, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Trustees, Parents and Teachers, on behalf of the present Council members, praised the keenness of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif to address the problems of education accumulated over decades, confront them, and develop realistic mechanisms to eliminate them in light of the available capabilities, with the help of teachers and school workers, and in agreement with the school administration. Which will contribute effectively to the success of the educational process.

The Council members also sent a message of support for the Minister’s vision and for all the proposals that were reviewed during the meeting, stressing their full support and the Council’s support for the Ministry in implementing it on the ground.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdel Raouf Allam, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Trustees, Parents and Teachers, Dr. Iman Hassan, Executive Director of the Council and Head of the Central Administration for Student Activities, Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and Agreements, Professor Mohamed Attia, Head of the Central Administration for Fee Education, and Dr. Tariq Amara, Vice President of the Council. Dr. Amr El-Desouki, Executive Director of the Council, Dr. Iman Mohamed Hosni, General Director of Social Education, and members of the Council in various governorates.
