As part of the ongoing implementation of the Egyptian state's strategy to develop the technical education system and strengthen the effective partnership between the government and the private sector, and on behalf of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, inaugurated the Ansi Sawiris School for Applied Technology and Construction today, Thursday, in cooperation with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and Orascom Construction.

Participating in the inauguration ceremony were Engineer Naguib Sawiris, Executive Chairman of Orascom Investment Holding and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sawiris Foundation; Mr. Nassef Sawiris, Chairman of Orascom Construction and co-founder of the Sawiris Foundation; and Engineer Osama Bishai, CEO of Orascom Construction.

Among the ministry's leaders present were Dr. Ayman Bahaa, Deputy Minister of Education, and Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Director of the Applied Technology Schools Operation and Management Unit, along with representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and civil society.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, said, "It is my honor and pleasure to convey to you the greetings and interest of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and his pride in this unique model of national partnership, the fruits of which we are reaping today with the opening of the Ansi Sawiris School for Applied Technology and Construction." He pointed out that the school's opening is the culmination of a strategic partnership between the state and the private sector to create a different educational reality and redefine the concept of professional excellence.

He added that the Ministry of Education seeks to establish a strategic alliance with the private sector. Believing that advancing technical education is a national project requiring concerted efforts from all sectors.

He emphasized that the focus on developing technical and technological education is not merely a response to current needs, but rather a reflection of the insightful vision adopted by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who redefined national priorities to place this sector at the heart of the development equation.

He added that thanks to this political will, the transition from partial development to comprehensive structural transformation has been achieved, with applied technology schools serving as the engine for moving towards the future.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif affirmed that this institution is not simply a digital addition to our school system, but a significant leap forward in the development of technical education, through a commitment to achieving a set of strategic goals adopted by the state.

He explained that among the most prominent of these goals is bridging the gap between theoretical curricula and the actual needs of the labor market by implementing modern curricula and advanced training programs, localizing technical knowledge, and making it a daily practice, considering this sector as the engine of development that links urban expansion with comprehensive economic growth. The goal is to ensure graduates become the technical leaders of Egypt's major national projects, while also developing a workforce equipped with 21st-century skills and translating those skills into tangible realities.

He also pointed out that among these objectives is reshaping the public perception of technical education, making it a preferred and attractive option for our talented youth, a genuine path to professional excellence and sustainable success, and strengthening the concept of national professional identity so that our youth become partners in development. This includes transforming the educational process into a productive environment through the implementation of realistic projects that address market needs and support innovation, as well as ensuring the integration of digital technology into education.

The Minister concluded his remarks by saying, "We believe that the future of nations is built in schools, training workshops, and laboratories, and that empowering youth with knowledge and skills is the path to achieving sustainable development and building the new republic."

In this context, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Prime Minister for his support and interest in developing technical education and applied technology, reflecting the state's commitment to preparing a generation capable of meeting the demands of the modern era.

The Minister also commended the contribution of the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and the Ministry of Education's industrial partners to this national effort, paying tribute to the teachers and trainers as the frontline workers who bear the responsibility of shaping minds and building capabilities.

In his speech, Mr. Nassef Sawiris, Chairman of Orascom Construction and co-founder of the Sawiris Foundation, explained: "Our parents instilled in us the value of education and providing real opportunities for young people to excel. The 'Ansi Sawiris School for Applied Technology and Construction' is not just a new educational institution, but a living embodiment of my father, Engineer Ansi Sawiris's vision and his deep belief that true progress begins with investing in people, persevering, and preparing technically skilled personnel trained according to the highest international standards."

Mr. Nassef Sawiris added that supporting specialized technical education, particularly in the construction sector, directly contributes to enhancing Egypt's ability to implement its national projects with qualified local talent and boosts the competitiveness of the national economy.

He continued, "From this perspective, we ensured that the school implements the best international training practices and links education to the actual job market by providing real job opportunities for students immediately upon graduation."

Mr. Sawiris praised the partnership with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, saying, "We value it as a long-standing strategic partner, and for this reason, we also strived to make the school a unique model that breaks the stereotypical image of technical education. Therefore, we are proud that it is the first of its kind in its field to receive German accreditation (AHK), which opens international horizons for our graduates."
