Today, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education celebrated the International Anti-Corruption Day, in the presence of Dr. Randa Shaheen, Head of the Central Administration for Public Education, and Dr. Amr Bosila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Operation and Management Unit of Applied Technology Schools, directors of educational directorates at the level of the Republic, and many Administrative control officials, the head of the Al-Azhar institutes sector and leaders from Al-Azhar.
In her speech, on behalf of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Randa Shaheen, Head of the Central Administration for Public Education, welcomed the attendees, expressing her happiness at the Ministry's celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day.
Dr. Randa Shaheen said, "The ministry seeks to respond to the directions of the political leadership to combat corruption, by including moral and human values in the modern education system (2.0), and in light of Egypt's vision 2030 to build the Egyptian person, who is the source of strength and constructive cohesion for the new Egypt that we aspire to."
She also indicated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called for the adoption of a national strategy to combat corruption on the International Anti-Corruption Day, corresponding to December 9, 2014, from the headquarters of the Administrative Control Authority. The United Nations praised the Egyptian effort in this regard, as the national strategy was listed as one of the most important successful practices for Egypt. In the field of preventing and combating corruption, and despite the success achieved as a result of implementing the first strategy, Egypt affirmed its commitment to continuing efforts in order to reach better degrees in the field of preventing corruption and higher levels of integrity and transparency, so the second anti-corruption strategy was 2019/2022 , which was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, at the conclusion of the Africa 2018 Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh.
She explained that the global initiative for education and youth empowerment (Grace) in the field of combating corruption is adopted by the United Nations Office for Combating Crime and Drugs, headed by Dr. Ghada Wali, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, in cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority and under the guidance of the Egyptian political leadership, and the activities of the initiative are scheduled to continue. Until July 2023, and it is one of the most prominent initiatives related to education and learning activities aimed at combating corruption.
Dr. Randa Shaheen continued: "Today's celebration coincides with the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day on the ninth of December of each year, and the Administrative Control Authority - the National Anti-Corruption Academy adopts the follow-up to the activities of the Grace Anti-Corruption Initiative, and in this context the culture of rejecting corruption must be emphasized. Which needs further strengthening within schools, by integrating the fight against corruption in educational programs and curricula so that young people can become leaders of integrity in the future, and this is what the Ministry of Education and Technical Education seeks to achieve through its ambitious plans for development.
The head of the Central Administration for Public Education stressed that it is necessary to include awareness programs for students about the Student Charter at the pre-university stage and the national anti-corruption strategy.
She added: Today, we are trying to shed light on the various activities carried out by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education aimed at consolidating a set of social and human values that combat corruption, whether that is through building the capacities of educational institution employees or what is happening within our schools, such as radio programs. Dramatizing the curricula and linking the educational process to life situations, which would have a positive impact on the behavior of our students within the schools, and thus reflect positively on the whole society.
The celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day included a presentation by administrative oversight on anti-corruption, a model for the school broadcast at Zamalek Secondary Military School for Boys on anti-corruption, a presentation by Ibhar Misr (Education First Foundation), and a model for an educational lesson in social studies in the primary stage on the importance of combating corruption. Corruption of the Faculty of Peace Elementary School, Zaytoun Administration, and a model for an educational lesson in the subject of studies at the secondary level of Saray al-Qobba Secondary School for Girls, Zaytoun Administration; To clarify the impact of corruption on the stability of countries, and to present an educational lesson in mathematics for the administration of eastern Nasr City on the importance of instilling positive values in students, and a presentation in English for the Zaytoun administration on combating corruption.
