Minister of Education participates in the seventh annual conference of the National Authority for Quality
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated today in the 7th Annual Conference of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education under the title "Quality of Education in Light of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence", which is organized by the Authority in cooperation with the Accreditation Council for Engineering and Technology Education (ABET), the New England Association of Colleges and Schools (NEASC), the Initiative for Harmonization of Higher Education Quality Standards in African Countries (HAQAA), the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ANQAHE), the European Organization for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank.
The conference will be held in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Mohamed Gebran, Minister of Labor, Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, Dr. Alaa Ashmawy, Chairman of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, Dr. Mohamed Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, representing Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Michael Miljan, President of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology in the United States of America, Dr. Douglas Blackstock, President of the European Foundation for Quality Assurance in Education, and a number of presidents of Egyptian universities, education quality experts and stakeholders.
From the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning and Follow-up, and Ms. Randa Halawa, Head of the Central Administration for Educational Dropout and Adult Education attended.
At the beginning of his speech, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, expressed his happiness to participate in this important conference organized by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education under the title: "Quality of Education in Light of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence", saying: "On this auspicious occasion, we would like to emphasize that the political leadership represented by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi - President of the Republic - provides unprecedented support for education and its issues and pays special attention to it, "and places it at the top of its priorities.
The Minister explained that the Ministry of Education and Technical Education spares no effort in the framework of the continuous endeavor to improve the performance of the educational system and improve the level of various educational services; believing that education is the locomotive of development and the basic pillar for building nations.
The Minister continued, saying: "The state has made great efforts over the past decade to reform and develop education, and has been keen to put in place policies and systems that guarantee the right of every citizen to obtain high-quality education," adding that society's awareness of the requirements of the new era has reached an unprecedented depth driven by what the Corona crisis and the subsequent changes in labor markets and lifestyles have revealed, as these changes were latent and were revealed by circumstances, challenges and advanced technologies, and as a result, Egyptian families have come to realize that there is no alternative to choosing a type of education that enhances the skills and capabilities of their children and prepares them for a future full of competition in various fields.
The Minister pointed out that quality always means striving for the best, and that what has been achieved so far are just the first steps on the path to achieving quality education and excellence, stressing that quality education is a common interest for the student, the educational institution, society and the state, and achieving this quality requires joint cooperation between all concerned parties, so that each party has a specific role and clear responsibility in this framework.
The Minister said: "I am confident and certain that we will complete the construction steps with the combined efforts of all state institutions, to build creative generations that achieve development and prosperity, adhering to national values and identity."
At the end of his speech, the Minister of Education extended his sincere thanks to all those in charge of organizing this important scientific event, headed by Dr. Alaa Ashmawy, Chairman of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, wishing them a successful conference.
It is worth noting that this international forum is an annual event organized by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education with the participation of international quality and accreditation bodies and organizations, international education experts, and education quality assurance bodies in a number of Arab and African countries.
The conference will witness rich discussion sessions on several main topics, including (Artificial Intelligence in Ensuring the Quality of Education: Opportunities and Challenges), (Education 2030: Sustainability, Equality, Digital Learning and Life Skills), (National, Regional and Continental Qualifications Frameworks), (Competency-Based Learning from Theory to Practice), (The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Teaching and Learning), (Mobility between Specializations and Borders for Learners and Graduates), and (African Initiatives on Quality Assurance and Recognition of Qualifications). It will conclude with the presentation of applicable results and recommendations on the ground that contribute to meeting the needs of society from the educational system and achieving its ambitions.
