Today, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in a ceremony honoring the winners of the first places in the Arab world in the competition of the second competition of the Arab Week of Programming, under the title “Artificial Intelligence and Environmental Protection” at the Al-Azhar Conference Center, which was organized by the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (ALECSO). The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, and the Tunisian Association for Educational Initiatives.
At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, expressed his happiness for his participation today in this important event, pointing to the permanent cooperation between the Ministry and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and its important role in supporting the educational process.

The minister explained that in light of the fourth and fifth industrial revolution, digital transformation, and the strategy of building the Egyptian human being launched by the President of the Republic in 2018 at Cairo University, the Egyptian student no longer depends on obtaining the certificate only without real learning that is able to compete in the international and global market. the Egyptian; We have to prepare the learner to face this and be able to learn on his own, and this is the legal vision for educating and building the Egyptian human, stressing that genetic engineering, artificial intelligence and others are relied upon in the future, and the learner is able to build himself in this framework, and to possess the mentality mentality, and the skills that enable it; To be able to compete, given that Egypt’s Vision 2030 is for the individual to be “educated, proud, accepting of pluralism and competition.”

The minister added that the other and more important aspect is the talented and outstanding and how to take care of them; They are the locomotive of progress for any country, noting that the President stressed the interest in them and the discovery and enrichment of talented people, and this is what is being worked on now.

Dr. Reda Hegazy pointed out that the selection of the Coordinating Committee for this topic confirms that artificial intelligence is the locomotive that will lead the world in the future, as it is one of the pillars of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and activates the role of the school in participating in protecting the environment, and helps the Arab child to provide technological solutions based on Artificial intelligence, for the problems it has observed in its surroundings and society, for example: protecting plants, forests and endangered animals, protecting and preserving water wealth, developing a vision for an environmentally friendly smart city, protecting the air, seas and oceans from pollution, reducing the risks of climate change, and encouraging Use of clean energy to preserve the environment.

Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that Egypt’s hosting of this important event, which coincides with our students’ achievement of the first places in the International Olympiad in Informatics a few days ago, as well as Egypt’s announcement of hosting and organizing the International Olympiad in Informatics in 2024, with the participation of (99) countries, all of this is only It affirms Egypt's leadership in this field, and Egypt's readiness to host the Climate Conference (COP27) next November.

Dr. Reda Hegazy addressed a speech to the winning students, saying to them: You must do your best to preserve the great results you have achieved, and benefit from them for the good of our dear Egypt, and take advantage of your potential and capabilities in the field of programming and technology, and achieve more progress and specialization in it, for the future is open. Before you, most of the students in this field have obtained scholarships in the most prestigious universities abroad, and some of them are currently working for the largest companies in the world.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al-Duwaini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, said that Al-Azhar’s participation this year in this event comes in line with Al-Azhar’s interaction with the Egyptian state’s vision 2030. As this year's events show the importance of programming in preserving the environment; Because the environment is of paramount importance in our lives.

The Undersecretary of Al-Azhar praised the enlightened goals of this event, including: helping the Arab community, especially the public of teachers and students, to highlight their energies and abilities, especially that technological applications have intervened in many details in our lives, and provide an educational environment in an enjoyable and easy way; To be an opportunity for them to open horizons towards new specializations by engaging them in interesting and fun software competitions, and a real opportunity to exchange experiences in the field of software education.

The Undersecretary of Al-Azhar affirmed that Islam has preceded modern civilizations in caring for the environment, upgrading it, and protecting it from corruption and pollution, by setting special legislation and tight controls revolving around architecture and cultivation, afforestation and greening, cleaning and disinfection, and other mechanisms that go beyond preserving the environment to benevolent to it. and investing its resources in a manner that does not harm the natural balance.
The choir of the Directorate of Education in Cairo presented singing performances during the ceremony, and the winning students were honored.
This came in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Al-Dhawini, Undersecretary of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Dr. Ashraf Azazi, Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and supervisor of the Egyptian National Committee for UNESCO, Dr. Ibrahim Fathi Moawad, Head of the Scientific Committee of the Arab Week of Programming, and Dr. Ayman Abdel Ghani, Head of Al-Azhar Institutes Dr. Randa Shaheen, Head of the Central Department of Public Education, Dr. Akram Hassan, Head of the Central Department for Curriculum Development, and Ashraf Salloma, Director of the Education Directorate in Giza.
