The Minister of Education participates in the activities of the press conference to announce the launch of the fourth edition of the Olympiad

Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the press conference to launch the Sports Olympiad for the border governorates in its fourth edition, which is implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the Central Administration for Sports Development (General Administration for Student Sports Activity), under the auspices of the President of the Republic, with the participation of 6 border governorates. They are "North Sinai, South Sinai, the Red Sea, Aswan, the New Valley, and Matrouh", in the presence of Major General Muhammad Abdel Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai, Major General Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh, Dr. Iman Hassan, Head of the Central Administration for Student Activities, and Dr. Jihan Anwar Allam, Director General of the Administration The General Assembly of Sports and Military Education, a group of leaders of the Ministries of Education and Technical Education, Youth and Sports, and media and public figures.

At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, welcomed the attendees, expressing his happiness at participating in this important press conference to launch the Sports Olympiad for the border governorates, in its fourth edition, which is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Republic, within the framework of implementing His sovereignty's directives towards expanding the base of sports practice, with attention to the people of Egypt from the border governorates; To build a distinguished generation in sports, culture and health.

Dr. Reda Hegazy Ali stressed that there is close cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, pointing out that building a person is a shared responsibility, and a ministry alone cannot build a person, but this happens through close cooperation between ministries, adding that one of the directions of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education is to be There is a full sports day for each class, and a cultural and artistic day in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Culture, stressing that building a person is represented in the student’s real learning and the development of all aspects of his cognitive, skillful and emotional personality, and this is the role assigned to the school.

Dr. Al-Wazir said: "We all meet today to launch this Olympiad out of our belief in the importance of practicing sports, especially school sports, which play a prominent and effective role in building the student's personality, by developing his athletic abilities and talents, in addition to its effective role in modifying and changing his behavior, in a way that suits with community values.

Dr. Reda Hegazy referred to the reflection of the sincere belief in the importance of school sports and the conscious interest in it on the part of the political leadership. Noting the President of the Republic's assertion that we need a program in which sport is part of education to preserve the health of our generations.

The Minister of Education stated that one of the most important positive roles of physical education and school sports in the lives of our students is its role in refining their personalities, and educating them based on the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and sports competencies, as well as gaining them healthy and preventive habits, and achieving psychological and emotional balance for them, in a way that avoids them. The scourge of deviation and extremism, and helps them study and achieve.

Dr. Reda Hegazy pointed out that receiving knowledge and practicing sports activities within educational institutions are two essential factors in building the desired personality, that personality that is able to deal with the data of the knowledge society, and that is qualified to enter it strongly; So that our country takes its rightful place on the international map of the knowledge and globalization society, and its rightful place on the sports podiums.

At the end of his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy extended his sincere greetings and appreciation to all employees of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, led by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, for their sincere and tireless efforts to hold this Olympiad, wishing everyone continued success.

For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, affirmed that the Border Governorates Olympiad is one of the ministry’s projects through which it works to discover talented and distinguished athletes as one of the state’s strategies, by targeting the largest number of participants in the various border governorates, pointing to the keenness of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to provide Sports programs and activities, and sports services for all segments of Egyptian society, especially in the border governorates, with the aim of spreading positive behaviors among youth and future generations.

The timetable for implementation includes the opening of registration during the period from (5-20) of March, the start of competitions and qualifiers for the preliminary stage of the Sports Olympiad for the border governorates during the period from March 25 to next April 20 within the governorates, and the start of the closing stage competitions of the Sports Olympiad for the border governorates during the period from Next April 28 until May 2 in Matrouh Governorate.

The Olympiad includes 12 games for the age group from 15 to 23 years old for boys and girls, which are “sitting volleyball, five-a-side football, basketball, beach volleyball, swimming, beach football (boys only), volleyball, athletics, table tennis, Karate, handball, chess.

The Minister of Youth and Sports announced the establishment of the fifth edition of the Olympiad in the border governorates in North Sinai Governorate.

During the activities of the press conference, registration was opened for the participants through the electronic link on the portal of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and an explanatory film was shown on how to register the data of the participants on the electronic link, and a documentary film was shown about the activities of the closing meeting of the third edition in Aswan.
