Minister of Education Discusses with Cambridge Officials

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met today with Mr. Wassim Al-Hanbali, Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at Cambridge and his accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation projects.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif praised the role of Cambridge International as one of the main partners of the Ministry, stressing the long and fruitful history of cooperation between the two sides in Egypt, as many schools in Egypt rely on the British education system, and Cambridge provides curricula and examination systems, in addition to granting IGCSE certificates to Egyptian students.
The Minister also indicated that the state aims to increase the number of Egyptian Nile Schools, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation and ongoing partnership between the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Cambridge International, to provide the best educational experience in these schools in line with global technological and educational developments.
For his part, the Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at Cambridge confirmed that the Authority offers a variety of global assessments, and that Cambridge programs focus through curricula on developing students' academic and personal skills, expressing the Authority's commitment to supporting the Ministry in developing the educational process in Egypt.
During the meeting, joint cooperation programs were reviewed, such as digital learning resources, curriculum development and review, capacity building and professional development for teachers, as well as what has been achieved in the Egyptian Nile Schools system in cooperation with Cambridge.
The meeting was attended from Cambridge by Ms. Mai El-Haddad, Country Director for Egypt and North Africa, Mr. Ismail Sabry, Senior Education Advisor, Ms. Abigail Barnett, Director of Cambridge Curricula, and Mr. Dan Bray, Director of Innovation and Transformation in Assessment.
From the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Ms. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and Agreements, and Ms. Rasha El-Goshi, Coordinator of the Ministry for Academic Affairs for International Schools, attended the meeting.
