"Education" organizes a celebration of Teacher's Day in appreciation of his role and distinguished position in the educational process
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, witnessed this evening the Teacher's Day celebration, which is organized by the Ministry of Education and Technical Education; In appreciation of the role of the great teacher, and his distinguished position in the educational process.
In his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his happiness to participate in this celebration of Teacher's Day, and to honor teachers who did not hesitate for a moment throughout the great history of Egypt in making their best efforts and continuous giving, stressing that they have all our pride and appreciation, on this honorable occasion.
And the minister said, "Get up to the teacher and pay him respects
.. The teacher was almost a messenger.” These are the words of gold written by the Prince of Poets Ahmed Shawqi, describing the great role of the teacher, pointing out that the human teacher is the owner of thought and a message that he seeks to achieve to serve the progress of his country, and no two disagree that the teacher is the artery of the educational process and strength. motivation to learn.
The Minister stressed that the method followed by the teacher and the extent of his knowledge of teaching methods is one of the most important factors that attract the student to excellence and distinction in the school, and that the teacher treats his students fairly, establishes positive expectations among students, stimulates good behavior for students, good planning for lessons, setting clear and understandable disciplinary rules, and focusing On positive relationships and the practice of unintentional parenting (changing behavior by presenting a clear behavioral model without verbal or verbal guidance) makes him a successful teacher.
During his speech, the minister directed a number of advice to the teacher to improve his role in developing the educational process and achieving his message to the fullest.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Minister thanked and appreciated all the teachers, telling them: The opportunity now exists for every teacher to be a teacher who instills knowledge, values and principles in the souls and minds of his students, to participate in changing reality towards a better future worthy of our students and our dear Egypt.
During the celebration, Dr. Reda Hijazi announced the launch of several initiatives and decisions in appreciation of the teacher’s role in society, including: the launch of the “I am the teacher” project and “The teacher’s support” project, starting next month, where he indicated that the “I am the teacher” platform is a program launched by the Ministry to distinguish All teachers, and a network of Egyptian merchants participate in it, and its first phase is financed by the Central Bank, noting that the project aims to emphasize the importance of the role of teachers in society, build confidence in the state’s orientation towards caring for teachers, and achieve special distinctions for teachers to consolidate the value of the teacher in society, as well as Confirmation of the Ministry's support for distinguished teachers.
The minister also explained that the program provides teachers with access to a market that includes hundreds of brands that give special discounts; In appreciation of teachers and their efforts in building Egypt, the program also gives teachers coupons with a financial value according to pre-defined performance indicators, with these coupons they can buy goods and services from their favorite brands, noting that the educational performance indicators are linked to the education development plan, which will be circulated to all teachers, including multiple elements. Among them: sustainable professional development, teacher contributions to development programs, performance levels for students, achieving quality goals, and others.
As for the "Professor's Support" project, Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that it includes a number of services, namely: "Ask Badri" service, "Installment Offers" service, and "Pay Your Bills" service, stressing that the project aims to make teachers feel safe in the face of emergency situations and when crises and the increase in services that the Ministry sought to make available to teachers; To enable them to face crises, noting that the project is being implemented by an Egyptian company specialized in financial services, and has a license from the Central Bank of Egypt.
The Minister also announced the launch of the new professional development document, Teach for tomorrow, in light of digital transformation and its use in sustainable professional development and promotion for teachers, and the activation of the electronic training and professional development platform, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development, where the project aims to upgrade the skills of teachers, which has a direct reflection To raise the educational level of students and the educational system in the state, and to hold new and advanced training courses in line with the continuous development in the training system and modern curricula, and to encourage teachers to continue education, and to provide enrichment courses for every teacher wishing to increase knowledge, in addition to providing training to all teachers in all governorates At the same time, facilitating the training and professional development process for teachers, in addition to facilitating the management and follow-up of the training process.
The minister added, "This strategic project was launched in April of 2022, and immediately the digital platform was launched and the design of courses for the first grades began. In a short period, nearly 200,000 teachers were trained through the platform, and work is underway to implement the second phase, which It includes kindergartens and upper classes, noting that so far, 1,000,000 teachers have been provided with training, and 874,106 training courses have been completed.
In the same context, the Minister announced the launch of the President's initiative to prepare young cadres to lead and manage schools, the first phase of which will start with 1,000 teachers to become principals after obtaining a diploma in strategic management.
The minister also noted the activation of a social welfare fund for teachers and their assistants, in cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, in accordance with Law No. (212) of 2020 regarding the establishment of the fund.
The Teacher’s Day celebration included a presentation of the training and professional development platform, presented by Wael Mounir and Engineer Nader Ayoub (USAID - IT Works), and a presentation of the “I am the teacher” platform (a teacher motivation platform with the support of the Central Bank of Egypt).
At the conclusion of the celebration, Dr. Reda Hegazy honored a number of distinguished teachers with inspiring stories.
