The Minister of Education chairs the meeting of the Board of Directors of the 10th of Ramadan Center
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, chaired the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Tenth of Ramadan Center for People with Disabilities, to discuss mechanisms for activating and operating the center and maximizing benefit from it.
This came in the presence of Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Sharqia, Professor Amal Mabdi, President of the Sports Federation for Mental Disabilities, Dr. Ihab Al-Bilawi, Dean of the Faculty of Disabilities at Zagazig University, Dr. Noha Abdel Dayem Suleiman, Acting Director of the Technical Office of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, and Dr. Randa Mustafa, Undersecretary of the Education Committee in the Senate. Representative Hind Hazem, Member of the House of Representatives, Representative Maha Shaaban, Member of the House of Representatives, Professor Magda Ahmed Fahmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nedaa Association, and Brigadier General Doctor Wael Al-Saidi, Leader of the Eagles Center for People with Disabilities.
From the Ministry of Education, Counselor Ashraf Al-Sayyid, Legal Advisor to the Minister, Brigadier General Tariq Al-Baz, Head of the Central Administration for Investment and Finance, Professor Sahar Al-Alfi, Director General of the General Administration of Special Education, and Professor Muhammad Hassan Al-Sibai in the General Administration of Special Education attended.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the attendees, stressing that the Ministry is working to provide an integrated system of services for people with disabilities within the 10th of Ramadan Center, in which all international standards are taken into account, within the framework of the directives of the political leadership, to pay attention to people with disabilities and provide them with all means of support, noting The Ministry places as its top priority taking all necessary measures to educate and prepare them, in order to facilitate their lives, participation, and integration into society.
Dr. Reda Hegazy praised the efforts made and the services provided by the center, directing the need to exploit these capabilities and the services provided, and to develop mechanisms to spread its services on the largest scale with the aim of reaching its services to the Middle East region.
Dr. Reda Hegazy pointed out the services provided by the center to rehabilitate people with disabilities, which include (audio therapy clinics, speech rooms, a room for family counseling, a room for play and skills development, two (2) rooms for cognitive behavior and behavior modification, an occupational therapy hall, and a supplementary room for treatment. Sensory areas, in addition to the areas designated for games in accordance with the requirements specifically prepared for people with disabilities, the area designated for hydrotherapy and physical therapy, the computer lab, the art room, the music room containing modern musical instruments, the spinning and weaving workshop, and accommodation rooms.
For his part, Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Sharqia, stressed the need to evaluate the current situation, in addition to the need to establish an organizational structure and regulation for the center, and the availability of the required cadres in it, in addition to determining priorities in terms of treatment, rehabilitation, training, and other services provided by the center.
The meeting discussed the services that the center aims to provide during the coming period and the specialized cadres that the ministry aims to attach to the center to provide support services and care for all students with disabilities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to form a small committee to develop the organizational structure and executive regulations in order to activate and operate the Tenth of Ramadan Center for People with Disabilities within a month from now, and to review and approve the regulations during the next meeting.
It is worth noting that the Rehabilitation Center for People with Disabilities was established in 10th of Ramadan City in 2019, and is considered one of the largest rehabilitation centers for people with disabilities in Arab and African countries, with an area of 24 thousand square meters, interspersed with green spaces at a rate of up to 70% of the total area, and an area of The building is 5,200 thousand square meters and consists of three floors.
The center receives cases of students throughout the week from various education schools, whether integrated students or from special education schools.
The 10th of Ramadan Center for Egyptian Community Development and Community Service, Egyptian families, and expatriates aims to provide educational and training services in all life skills, training, and rehabilitation for students with disabilities.
