Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met today at the Ministry's general office, Ashraf Negm, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Charitable Investment Fund for Education, and members of the Board's management to discuss the conversion of a number of technical schools into applied technology schools.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed the directives of the President of the Republic to support and sustain the development of the educational process, increase the number of applied technology schools, the importance of technical education and the successes achieved by these schools, and the increase in students’ demand for technical education due to its tangible results and the great gains it achieves in a short period. Pointing to the success of changing the mental image of technical education to achieve tangible results and speed in achieving them, and that education is life and preparation for life.

Hegazy explained that the schools of applied technology achieved great success and witnessed an increase in demand for them, and that they created a state of desire to join them due to the provision of job opportunities for graduates inside and outside Egypt, pointing out that the ministry is working to increase the number of applied technology schools and expand them because they have become a center of attraction for him. Many students from all over Egypt, and for being a model that expresses the confidence of businessmen and investors in the Egyptian government.

Ashraf Negm indicated that there are many successful experiences achieved by the fund in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and industrial partners, pointing to the increase in demand for technical education due to the availability of job opportunities for graduates in the labor market in the Egyptian society, praising the important role of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and its interaction in achieving Fund objectives.

During the meeting, the development of technical schools and their conversion into applied technology schools were discussed, and job opportunities were created for graduates through fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the fund and the industrial partner, and an increase in the number of industries in which there is a shortage of technical workers, an increase in the number of technical fields, and an increase in incentives for teachers to ensure continuity in these schools.

It is worth noting that the Charitable Investment Fund for Education Support aims to find a mechanism to provide sustainable financing for educational projects, raise the level of education, work to support students, and provide distinguished educational services to the areas most in need, while managing charitable work and endowment in an institutional manner.

This came in the presence of Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, Dr. Salma Bakry, Member of the Board of Directors, Dr. Laila Iskandar, Former Minister of Civilization Development, Mohamed El-Sherbiny, Investment Manager, Dr. Ghada El-Nashar, Executive Director of the Fund, and George Sedky, Member of the Board of Directors. And Ahmed Ashmawy, member of the Technical Education Advisory Council.
