The Minister of Education participates in the session “Addressing Climate Action by Providing Education and Equal Opportunities for All”
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in a session entitled "Tackling Climate Action by Providing Education and Giving Equal Opportunities for All", on the sidelines of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The session, organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Vodafone Egypt Foundation, highlighted the COP Student Competition on Climate Action, highlighting the winners, and raising awareness of digital classes.
In his speech, the minister said that technology plays a central role in the education revolution, noting that the education system in Egypt is undergoing an important transformation, with the aim of ensuring that the process and content of learning are closely related to the challenges of the twenty-first century.
He added that digital transformation has become a strategic direction for the Egyptian state with all its organs; In an effort to build a digital Egypt, and to reach an Egyptian society that deals digitally in all aspects of life; Which leads to raising the level of quality of services provided, including educational services; By improving the work environment and providing the necessary support for the decision-making process; finding solutions to issues of concern to society; Which ultimately reflects on improving the quality of life for the Egyptian citizen.
In his speech, the Minister reviewed the Ministry's efforts to digital transformation in the educational process by providing educational platforms and channels (Our School 1,2,3) for various school levels, as well as establishing a strong technological infrastructure in secondary schools, in nearly 2500 schools, and starting to Providing smart screens in middle schools, in the interest of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to achieve the interest of our students at all educational levels, and to promote the transformation towards digital education.
On educating students about the issues of climate change, Dr. Reda Hegazy indicated that the Ministry has prepared a plan to implement a set of seminars for students, teachers, employees of departments and schools on the phenomenon of climate change, as well as implementing awareness campaigns for school students about the phenomenon of climate change, its causes and negative effects on humans, the environment and living organisms and how to confront and limit them. Of which.
At the conclusion of his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, invited the participants to visit the art gallery located in the wing of the Ministry of Education, Education and Technical Education in the Green Zone, where artworks of students enrolled in public schools are displayed, which reflect the hopes and dreams of children to take action. To address the climate crisis, under the slogan "A message from the children of Egypt to the world."
