"Education" directs educational directorates to implement a campaign to educate students about climate changes
In light of the directives of the political leadership of the need to develop awareness of the issue of climate change, and in preparation for hosting the Climate Summit (COP27) during the month of November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education directed the directors of educational directorates to implement an awareness campaign in all its schools to educate students about the phenomenon of climate change. Climate changes, their causes and negative effects on humans, the environment and living organisms, and how to confront and limit them.
The ministry indicated that it has prepared a plan to implement a set of seminars for students, teachers, and employees of departments and schools on the phenomenon of climate change, in cooperation with specialists from the Environmental Affairs Agency in the educational directorates, as well as dedicating a daily segment on school radio to cover news coverage of the events and activities of the Climate Summit throughout its period.
She explained that a plan will be prepared to implement training programs for environmental, population and health education cadres in departments and schools on awareness of the phenomenon of climate change, in cooperation with the Training Department in the educational directorates, and preparing a wall magazine in each school to raise awareness of the phenomenon of climate change, addressing the causes of the phenomenon, its repercussions, ways to confront it, how to adapt to it and reduce Its negative effects on humans and the environment.
The ministry stressed the need to employ dramatic and artistic activities and debates to raise awareness of the issue of climate change, and to offer student competitions such as research, brochures, artwork and social media pages to raise awareness of the issue of climate change, and to award certificates of appreciation to winning students at the district level, taking into account the application of all necessary precautionary measures to prevent infection with the virus. corona.
