The Ministry of Education and Technical Education, through the Quality and Information Technology Sector - the General Administration of E-Learning, participated in honoring the winning students in the international competition in the field of Microsoft software applications (Championship MOS World), in cooperation with Certiport.
In his speech, Mohsen Abdel Aziz, Head of Quality and Information Technology Sector, expressed his happiness with the presence of students who are able to participate and compete globally and achieve sixth place in this global competition, pointing to the important role played by the Ministry in enriching and spreading the culture of digital transformation, developing students’ technological skills and enhancing their creativity. He wished to achieve higher positions in various competitions, stressing the ability of the Egyptian student to continue to advance in science.
He also thanked the parents who supported and motivated their children in light of the repercussions of the Corona crisis, in addition to all employees of the E-Learning Department, the Training Department, specialists and managers of technological development centers participating in training these students, helping them and enabling them to reach global competition.
During the celebration, a documentary film was shown about the stages of the competition, the criteria for selecting the participating students, the technical training they passed, the devices they were able to create, the students who won the competition prizes, and everyone who participated in the competition.
Dr. Fathia Khairi, Director General of the General Administration of E-Learning, expressed her happiness with this celebration and honoring the future youth students, noting that this competition is one of the most important international competitions in the world in selecting contestants for the skills of using the "Microsoft Office" program, explaining that the competition targets students. From 13 years old to 21 years old in different educational stages, and more than 60 countries around the world participate in it.
She pointed out that the students were selected after several local qualifications, in which about 4000 students participated in the Republic. Then, the top 100 students were chosen at the level of the Republic, and they were hosted in a three-day camp in the Education City on the 6th of October.
She also thanked Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education, and Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister for Technological Development, for their sponsorship of the competition, and continued that when any result is achieved, our happiness is very great, and when the name of Egypt is mentioned in any international event, it is an indication of the strength of the effort to achieve it, noting For obtaining the sixth place in the world despite the difficulty of the competition, and also thanked the parents for their efforts and support for their children.
In her speech, Mirna Aref, director of Microsoft in Egypt, stressed that education is the backbone of development, progress and prosperity, and that students are the real investment in this development, leading to innovation and creativity.
She said: These students are the pride of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and Microsoft Corporation, expressing her happiness with the winning students, the fruits of the effort and effort expended. Excellence and continuity of posts and initiatives.
