Minister of Education Participates in the Closing Ceremony of the 7th International Conference)

As part of supporting international cooperation in the field of education, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the closing ceremony of the 7th International Conference on Transregional Education for Arab States, titled "The Issue of Education in Conflict Zones - Challenges and Solutions." The conference was organized by Education International and hosted by the Egyptian Teachers Syndicate in Cairo. A group of prominent figures and leaders in the field of education from around the world attended the conference, including Mr. Khalaf Al-Zanati, Head of the Teachers Syndicate; Mogwen Maluleke, President of Education International; David Edward, Secretary-General of Education International; Manal Hadifa, Head of Transregional Education for Arab States; and Dalila Al-Barhami, Regional Coordinator.

In his speech during the closing session, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif expressed his pleasure at Egypt's hosting of this important event for the first time, bringing together a select group of decision-makers, experts, and education stakeholders from around the world. He welcomed the participating delegations to the land of civilization spanning over seven thousand years, emphasizing that holding the conference in Egypt represents an important step toward strengthening educational partnerships and exchanging expertise between countries.

The Minister of Education emphasized that education is no longer merely a means of transferring knowledge; it has become a strategic tool for achieving sustainable development, a gateway to the future, and a fundamental entry point for building individuals capable of interacting with the changing times.

He explained that Egypt's vision for developing education is based on investing in the human element, the fundamental pillar for achieving a better future. This is where the national vision for developing the education system emerged, keeping pace with global changes and meeting the needs of the labor market.

The Minister also reviewed the most prominent efforts made by the state in recent years to develop the education system, which included updating curricula, developing assessment mechanisms, integrating technology into education, supporting and training teachers, and expanding the base of technical education and linking it to the labor market.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif concluded his speech by emphasizing Egypt's commitment to moving forward with educational reform, based on the belief that the future is made in classrooms and that our students are the hope of tomorrow and the foundation of renaissance and progress.

It is worth noting that the Seventh International Conference on Transregional Education for Arab Countries kicked off in Cairo over two days under the title "Education in Conflict Zones - Challenges and Solutions - Education in Arab Countries." The conference was organized by Education International, which has 176 member countries. Several Arab countries also participated, including Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Mauritania, Palestine, Tunisia, Yemen, and Somalia.
