Today, Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the launching ceremony of the media partnership between the Ministry of International Cooperation and CNN News, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport and Communications, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources. Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities for Infrastructure Affairs, and Mr. Marwan Elie Kay, Head of the Commercial Sector at CNN.

Dr. Tarek Shawky, in his speech, expressed his happiness to participate in this important event that aims to list international partnerships to achieve sustainable development, noting that this event represents a serious step and confirms the Egyptian state’s keenness to commit to highlighting the enormous development efforts exerted in various fields, and to shed light on the Unprecedented achievements made within the framework of Egypt's vision for sustainable development (Egypt 2030).

Dr. Tarek Shawky stressed that Egypt attaches importance to investing in the human element, noting that the Ministry of Education has a quarter of the population in schools, and the pre-university education system includes 25 million students in about 60,000 schools.

The minister pointed out that President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi made education one of the priorities for development in Egypt, when he launched the initiative “Towards an Egyptian Society that Learns, Thinks and Innovates” in 2014, in an attempt to solve education problems and pay attention to the thought of the Egyptian person, pointing out that within the framework of the digital transformation system, a system of digital transformation was established. The Egyptian Knowledge Bank for the dissemination of science and knowledge; To make available to the citizen what science has reached in all fields.

The minister reviewed the plan to develop Egyptian education and change the entire educational system to shift from education to learning, noting that the goal is to develop education and bring about a revolution that will put our students on the path of knowledge progress, build student capabilities and acquire various life skills.

The minister said that Egypt is one of the countries with a great digital transformation and progress in technical education, and this is because we aim to link technical education with the labor market.

He pointed out that the access of all girls and young women to a quality education, in all parts of Egypt, represents one of their intrinsic human rights, and is one of the most important national priorities, pointing out that the Ministry is working to empower girls in Egypt to obtain distinguished and fair educational opportunities, and to benefit from High quality educational services.

The media partnership between the Ministry of International Cooperation and CNN comes as part of the third principle of the framework of international cooperation and development finance - narrating international participation - with the aim of documenting Egypt's development stories, at the international level, through three axes: the citizen at the center of attention and ongoing projects. The goal is driving force.
