Minister of Education discusses with "Decent Life" Foundation enhancing cooperation)

Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, met with a delegation from the "Decent Life" Foundation, with the aim of discussing cooperation between the Ministry and the Foundation, and following up on the Ministry's efforts and contribution within the presidential initiative.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the attendees, stressing that the "Decent Life" project is the first national project of its kind in Egypt and the world, noting that the presidential initiative includes many axes that target community development and raising the quality of life, including the axis of improving the quality of education and building the human being, indicating that the Ministry of Education spares no effort in participating in all initiatives that contribute to the advancement and advancement of the educational system.

The Minister stressed that the Ministry is making every effort to support the implementation of the goals of the national project "Decent Life", which is based on improving the quality of life and human development services, especially education, as the project targets more than half of Egypt's population in the various governorates and villages.

During the meeting, the Minister presented a number of files that the Ministry places on its work agenda, in order to serve the objectives of the educational process at various stages and grades, and to advance it in order to achieve the state's goals in the field of education in general.

For his part, the delegation of the "Decent Life" Foundation reviewed during the meeting a number of axes related to the education sector, including providing school supplies for the children of the needy before the start of the school year, in addition to cooperation with the Vodafone Foundation in the education project to develop computer labs in 100 schools, in addition to contributing to training parents on how to use computers and eradicate digital illiteracy among them, as well as contributing to the implementation of the "Review My School" project, which began two years ago to distribute school bags and school supplies and pay school fees for families unable to pay fees.

The delegation of the "Decent Life" Foundation also praised the Ministry's support for all projects that aim to improve the educational process and that directly affect the citizen, and they appreciated the efforts they saw to improve the educational process.

The meeting discussed cooperation in establishing the Decent Life educational platform, by using distinguished cadres of teachers to provide short educational videos targeting regular and blind students and providing other educational materials using sign language, in addition to the ministry's support in terms of marketing advertising for these educational platforms.

The meeting also discussed the cooperation of the "Decent Life" Foundation with the ministry in supporting students' skills in reading, writing and arithmetic through groups within schools as a summer activity and providing psychological support to them and their families to complete their education and not drop out of education, and encouraging students to complete their education and attract them to schools, and providing them with maximum support.

The discussion touched on ways to confront the phenomenon of children dropping out of education, and strengthening mechanisms of cooperation between the two sides to confront it, as Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed his keenness to make all efforts in cooperation with the "Decent Life" Foundation to eliminate this phenomenon.

The meeting was attended from the Ministry's side by Dr. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and Agreements and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Minister's Office Affairs, Ms. Hala Abdel Salam, Head of the Central Administration for General Education, and Ms. Randa Halawa, Head of the Central Administration for Addressing School Dropouts.

From the "Decent Life" Foundation, the meeting was attended by Eng. Ahmed Amgad, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Dr. Marwa Fakhry, Executive Director of the Foundation, Ms. Shana Masoud, Member of the Board of Trustees - Head of the International Cooperation Sector, and Colonel Ahmed Mansour, Director of the Social Empowerment Sector.
