Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, revealed his ministry’s plan to confront the student population crisis.

The Minister said, during the press conference held in the Council of Ministers in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, that he went to the ground and made many field visits to high-density schools in many regions and governorates, and held dialogues with teachers, parents, and directors of educational departments and directorates. After reviewing many experts, it was concluded that the crisis of class densities is being faced in more than one way.

The Minister of Education indicated that educational spaces were limited by the Educational Buildings Authority, in order to exploit these spaces to hold classes.

The Minister revealed that the new academic year will witness the transfer of secondary schools to the evening period, so that in the morning it will be a place that can be used by middle schools, which will also become used by primary schools, provided that the matter will be flexible according to the educational departments that will deal with the matter according to their needs.

The minister added that the number of school days will increase by one day to become five days of academic education instead of four, in addition to a sixth day for activities.

The Minister announced the use of the idea of ​​the mobile classroom, which is applicable in most countries of the world, by moving a classroom in the stage to be in an activity or physical education room, which will help reduce densities, noting that if the experiment is applied in Qalyubia Governorate, for example, some In schools, class density will decrease from 69 students to only 40 students, stressing that these solutions are practical and came after direct dialogue and approval from the parties of the educational system.
