Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received a delegation from the World Bank. This is to discuss various aspects of partnerships and cooperation between the Ministry and the World Bank for the development of pre-university education.

Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his appreciation for the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the World Bank and the Ministry, stressing the importance of this cooperation to correct the course first, in order to ensure that the right path is taken to develop the educational system, noting that the Ministry cooperates with the World Bank in a number of files with the aim of developing and upgrading the system. educational.

Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that the ministry is working to complete the development strategy, stressing the importance of community dialogue and community involvement to make them feel the development, which is one of the elements of change management.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed a number of important files implemented by the ministry, indicating that with regard to the calendar for the first and second secondary grades, this year's exams were completed online on the tablet at the level of each educational department, explaining that the decentralization that was implemented during the holding of these exams Making there flexibility and comfort, especially after training teachers to formulate test vocabulary that measures higher levels of thinking.

Dr. Reda Hijazi confirmed that the questions of the general secondary exams were withdrawn this year through question banks, in addition to the presence of experts to review the answer forms before the correction process.

He added that there is no development of the educational process without improving the performance of the teacher, indicating in this context that a standards document has been prepared for teachers, mentors and principals in cooperation with the World Bank and development partners, and training packages are being implemented, pointing out that there is a training unit in every school and educational administration, as well The General Department of Curricula has been restructured to become a central department that includes curricula, books and advisors.

The minister pointed out that there are several factors that strongly affect the quality of the educational process, such as illiteracy, teacher inability, poverty and educational dropout, stressing that the ministry is working to solve these issues, explaining that the new curricula mainly discuss the population issue, and the ministry is cooperating closely with the Ministry of Health and Population. In this regard because there is an inverse relationship between the level of education and population increase.

Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that the ministry has made remarkable and distinguished achievements in the development of education, including the new education system and curricula from the kindergarten stage to the sixth grade of primary school, in addition to the great achievement in the technological development file, as a technological structure was established in 2,500 secondary schools, and each student receives When entering the secondary stage, a tablet is provided with learning resources, and there are educational platforms that help students learn, in addition to digital channels, a digital identity, and the allocation of a code for each student, and the high school exams this year were corrected electronically.

The minister explained that a distinguished community dialogue was organized to discuss the framework of the preparatory stage curricula, adding that the ministry is in the process of organizing a community dialogue to discuss setting standards for the "Teachers for Better Learning" document, with the participation of a group of teachers, members of Parliament, and civil society, noting that Egypt recently joined As a member of the Global Partnership for Education "GPE", which reflects the distinguished steps that Egypt has achieved in all fields to develop the pre-university education system.

The meeting discussed mechanisms for addressing dropouts from education, preparing training packages to enable teachers to diagnose these students, as well as establishing a special technology unit.

The meeting was attended by Fadia Saadeh, Director of Human Development for the Middle East and North Africa, Sherif Hamdy, Representative of the World Bank Director, Rayana Mohamed Qaed, Human Development Programme, and Amira Kazem, Head of the Team.
