In accordance with the directives of Dr. Tariq Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, towards integrating and involving the private sector in the technical education development system, the ministry held a meeting with elite representatives of the private sector in four promising economic sectors, namely “textiles, ready-made garments, construction and agribusiness, and agribusiness.” and food industries, tourism and hospitality”, in cooperation with the Technical Support Project for the Inclusive Technical Education Initiative with Egypt (TCTI) implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the German government, based on the recommendations of a set of labor market studies conducted by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Mujahid, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, Dr. Amr Bosaila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education, Director of the Operation and Management Unit for Applied Technology Schools, Dr. Muhammad Moussa Emara, Head of the Technical Education Sector, and a number of representatives of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, and representatives and leaders of the Federation of Industries The Egyptian, the National Center for Dual Technological Education, the Chamber of Textile Industries, the Chamber of Ready Made Garments, the Chamber of Food Industries, the Egyptian Federation of Hotels and Domestic Tourism, in addition to representatives of a number of large and medium-sized companies in the four fields.

Dr. Muhammad Mujahid stressed the importance of effective and sustainable partnership with the private sector, which is one of the main pillars of the technical education development strategy. With the aim of providing skilled technical labor in line with the needs of the various economic sectors and the local and international labor market, pointing out that this vision comes in line with the Egyptian state’s orientation towards maximizing the role of the private sector and overcoming all obstacles in front of it while providing more investment opportunities in order to advance the national economy.

Dr. Amr Bosaila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education, and Director of the Operation and Management Unit for Applied Technology Schools, expressed the importance of these meetings with the private sector, pointing to the ministry’s desire to build bridges of cooperation with the business and construction community, and reviewed the achievements made as a result of the partnership with The private sector, beginning with dual education schools, passing through schools of applied technology, and ending with the latest models of the system, centers of excellence.

Basileh called on the various existing companies to join the development process, saying: "The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has become more flexible in its understanding of the requirements of the private sector and its response to its needs, and it wants to join not only large companies to the system, but also medium ones."

Mr. Ludovic Gillin, Technical Support Project Manager for the Comprehensive Technical Education Initiative with Egypt (TCTI), gave a presentation on the project in its various dimensions and details, including various activities to develop the aforementioned sectors in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, stressing his desire to keep all channels of communication with the private sector open. , with the aim of achieving, together, education in line with the labor market and skilled technical labor that meets the needs of the private sector.

The meeting also witnessed a presentation of successful experiences in technical education presented by Al-Suwaidi and the Riyadh Group, and ended with an open discussion in which the attendees addressed the various challenges facing the private sector in finding skilled technical labor and ways to overcome them, in addition to their participation in a number of proposals with the aim of developing the technical education system and improving its response. to the real needs of the private sector.
