Today, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting with the directors of educational directorates, via video conference; To discuss the latest preparations for the new academic year 2022-2023, in light of the ministry's constant endeavor to provide a distinguished educational system; List on quality assurance.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the attendees, stressing the important role of the directors of educational directorates in the success of the new academic year, within the framework of ensuring the integration of all efforts made by the Ministry; To create an appropriate, good, safe and healthy environment for our students; To achieve a disciplined and safe new school year.
The minister stressed the importance of following up on the educational process in schools by all members of the system, not with the aim of inspection and catching errors, but with the aim of guidance and counseling.
Dr. Reda Hegazy directed the necessity of celebrating and receiving new students at the beginning of the school year, and providing all means that attract the student to school, stressing that the return of students to school in the new academic year is a strategic goal because the school has an important social role in building the student’s personality in accordance with Egypt’s 2030 vision.
The minister emphasized that 25% of the educational channel viewing quotas in schools were achieved through “our school (1, 2, 3)” in the educational process, at various levels of education, through (smart board, data show, or computers) for more than one semester. In the same period for the presentation of the lesson, with the presence of the distinguished elements of the teachers in the school accompanied by the students, and the rest of the quorum is allocated to the lessons of the subject; to discuss the content viewed, which will effectively contribute to providing sufficient time; To engage in activities of all kinds: sports, cultural, artistic, scientific, and technological, and to contribute to discovering and nurturing talented people.
The minister directed the directors of the educational directorates to prepare a weekly report on all the activities practiced in the school, with videos attached to the students' various success stories.
The Minister stressed to ensure that students receive textbooks, to download the electronic version of them, and to pay tuition fees in 4 installments, taking into account the psychological impact of students, noting that teachers have been exempted from 50% of their children's school fees and the remaining percentage is in installments in 3 installments. .
The Minister also stressed the need to hold periodic meetings between directorates, departments and schools with parents, through which to listen to their suggestions, opinions, and views regarding the efforts made; To develop the educational system.
The Minister also stressed that all necessary measures are taken to achieve health and preventive requirements to preserve the safety of students in schools, and to enhance interest in the development of students' personality while enhancing attention to behavioral and personal aspects of them, and encouraging teachers to provide students with critical, innovative and creative thinking skills, and creating a culture of work. In a team spirit, within schools and educational institutions, to ensure the creation of conscious, distinguished generations, keeping pace with the requirements of the current era, and qualified to deal with future challenges.
Dr. Reda Hegazy also stressed the need to work on creating a healthy and safe environment for teachers, preserving their rights, and providing an appropriate work environment. It is distinguished by respect and appreciation, befits their distinguished position, and ensures that they perform their lofty message in an optimal manner, stressing the use of the banner “Get up for the teacher and he is revered. The teacher is almost a messenger” in a visible place in all schools, departments and educational directorates located at the level of the Republic.
The minister stressed the instillation of the values ​​of citizenship, belonging and loyalty to the homeland, and the need to adhere to saluting the flag, and that the first lesson for all stages should be about national projects, loyalty and belonging, and organizing school trips to visit the national projects of the Egyptian state, and tourist places.
As for the school building, the minister affirmed that all necessary measures have been taken; To maintain the cleanliness of schools inside and out, expand green spaces, and prevent the presence of smart mobile phones in classrooms. He also stressed the importance of adhering to the school uniform, while not forcing students to buy it from certain places.
Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that with regard to the General Secondary Certificate exams, the President of the Republic agreed that the exam paper should include multiple-choice questions (MCQ) and a return to short essay questions at a rate not exceeding 15% according to the nature of each study subject, indicating that 5000 will be trained. Instructor on the new system and teaching practices and how to prepare test vocabulary at this level.
The minister stressed that the work of the year for students, starting from the sixth grade of primary school, is divided as follows (5% for behavior, 5% for attendance, and 10% for a test prepared by the subject guide and at the school level so that the student obtains the highest degree of the months tests).
The minister said that a subject will be added to research projects, which are not added to the total, for which the teacher is the leader of the class and will be taught in the classroom and during the leadership class, where students in groups of no less than 3 students and no more than 5, prepare projects on the major challenges facing Egypt, such as Water scarcity, climate change, desertification, and the state's national projects.
