The Minister of Education discusses cooperation files with the Chinese ambassador in Cairo
Tariq Shawqi, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held a meeting today with Liao Li Zhang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Cairo, and his accompanying delegation, to discuss a number of issues related to joint projects between the two countries in the field of educational development, through video conference technology.
The meeting discussed areas of cooperation between the two sides, including: teaching the Chinese language in Egyptian schools as an optional language, starting next year with a number of public schools, languages in the first year of middle school, and the start of operating and admitting students to the Le Pen - Egypt in cooperation with the Tianjin College of Light Professional Industries, and the Tianjin Technical College for Transport. This is within the framework of the efforts made to develop technical education, in addition to cooperating with the Chinese company Net Dragon for a project to establish mobile classrooms to treat the problem of pupils overcrowding in classrooms.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Tarek Shawky praised the Egyptian-Chinese relations, which he described as distinct, ancient and profound, noting that the Egyptian state is keen to benefit from the unique and inspiring Chinese experience in economic development and its relationship to comprehensive development in various fields.
The Chinese ambassador expressed his happiness for the fruitful cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Education, praising the education reform and development program that has been achieved in the educational process in Egypt, stressing that the Chinese embassy is fully prepared to provide all aspects of support to the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to implement its national project.
The meeting from the Ministry of Education was attended by Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister for Teachers Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister for Technical Education Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister for Technology and Information Affairs, and Dr. Amr Basilah, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Director of the Operation and Management Unit of Schools of Applied Technology .
