Minister of Education receives Dr. Ali Gomaa to discuss ways to enhance cooperation with Misr El Kheir Foundation
Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Prof. Dr. Ali Gomaa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr El Kheir Foundation; to discuss enhancing cooperation frameworks between the Ministry and the Foundation in a number of projects related to the development of pre-university education.
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed the importance of the role of Misr El Kheir Foundation and civil society in developing and supporting the educational system, praising the role of the Foundation and the ongoing cooperation with the Ministry in raising the educational level of children who have dropped out of school in various areas most in need, stressing his full support for all the Foundation's efforts and the Ministry's keenness to overcome any obstacles that the Foundation may face in projects aimed at developing the educational process.
During the meeting, the Minister also reviewed the efforts and mechanisms that have been implemented over the past period to reduce student densities and fill the teacher shortage, which contributed to the launch of a disciplined school year in schools across the country, which was appreciated by His Excellency Professor Dr. Ali Gomaa, praising the efforts made to discipline the educational process in schools.
During the meeting, the Minister expressed his aspiration to enhance cooperation with the Misr El Kheir Foundation and to integrate with civil society organizations in a number of important axes related to enhancing the level of literacy among primary school students, and providing additional meals containing essential nutritional elements for school students in the most needy areas, in addition to launching a campaign to screen for poor eyesight among school students in these areas and provide them with free reading glasses.
For his part, His Excellency Professor Dr. Ali Gomaa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr El Kheir Foundation, stressed the strategic partnership and fruitful cooperation between the Ministry and the Foundation, stressing the Foundation's aspiration to contribute to all efforts that reflect on providing distinguished educational opportunities for many of those who deserve it, whose financial circumstances prevent them from achieving their dream of a distinguished education they deserve.
His Excellency Professor Dr. Ali Gomaa pointed out that the Foundation will continue to make all efforts to contribute to eliminating the challenges facing the educational system, referring to the efforts made by the Foundation to support community schools in cooperation with the Ministry.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of areas of cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Misr El Kheir Foundation, which included implementing a number of educational projects in the field of community education, educational access, and implementing the school homework model for students inside schools, especially in the most needy areas, where it was agreed to take all measures that contribute to facilitating the work of the Foundation.
This came in the presence of Professor Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and Agreements, Professor Randa Halawa, Head of the Central Administration for Addressing Educational Dropouts, and Dr. Hala Abdel Salam, Head of the Central Administration for General Education.
From Misr El Kheir Foundation, Dr. Mohamed Refaei, CEO of the Foundation, Eng. Ahmed Ali, Executive Program Engineer, and Dr. Saber Hassan, Head of the Education Sector at the Foundation, attended.
