Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, witnessed the graduation of the first two batches of students from WE Schools of Applied Technology for the academic years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, with a total number of graduates of 1,137 from 6 governorates across the country, at the Digital Egypt Creativity Center "Creativa" in Giza.

The "WE" schools for applied technology, established by the Egyptian Telecommunications Company "WE" under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, aim to prepare a new generation of qualified technical cadres capable of competing in local, regional and international communications markets, developing their skills and providing them with scientific and practical experience, through supporting and developing the technical education system and building an integrated educational model that combines academic learning and practical experience that is compatible with the requirements of the real labor market.

In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stressed that the vision behind establishing the "WE" schools for applied technology is to graduate a qualified generation according to the latest developments in communications and information technology and in line with the requirements of the labor market, and to provide a new model for technical education graduates in Egypt and change the stereotype about technical education.

Dr. Amr Talaat pointed out that one of the most prominent challenges that emerged when starting to establish these schools is to gain the trust of outstanding students; pointing out that the students were aware and cognizant of the programs provided by this educational system that enable them to acquire an array of skills and knowledge in the manner that Qualifies them to compete in the local, regional and global labor market effectively and competently.

Dr. Amr Talaat added that the first step was to establish one school in Nasr City, which witnessed a great turnout from students, which was an incentive to expand the establishment of schools throughout the republic; explaining that 19 schools have been reached in 19 governorates with more than 4,000 male and female students so far; stressing the continuation of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in establishing We Schools for Applied Technology in the governorates to reach 27 schools during the coming year at a rate of one school in each governorate, and then increasing the number of schools in each governorate.

Dr. Amr Talaat explained that We Schools for Applied Technology provide technological education according to the latest sciences of communications and information technology in addition to the curricula of general secondary education; pointing out that communications and information technology are a fundamental pillar for all sectors as they have become an essential element for achieving real development; pointing out that technology companies have become at the forefront of the global economic scene, and that the standard of progress of countries is measured by the extent of their progress in the field of communications and information technology.

Dr. Amr Talaat congratulated the graduates of WE Applied Technology Schools; he called on the graduates to continue to gain more knowledge and to learn about the latest developments in the communications and information technology sector to enhance their competitive capabilities in the labor market. He also thanked the parents for their trust in WE Applied Technology Schools, as well as the work teams in the Ministries of Communications and Information Technology and Education and Telecom Egypt for their efforts in making the educational system in these schools a success.

Dr. Amr Talaat confirmed that there is continuous communication with the Minister of Education on how to develop these schools and expand in various governorates of the Republic.

In his speech, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education, confirmed that the Applied Technology Schools represent an advanced step towards building a modern and advanced technical education system that meets the needs of the labor market and responds to rapid developments in the fields of technology and industry.

The Minister of Education also extended his sincere thanks and great appreciation to Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, for his great interest in supporting the technical education system in Egypt, and the successful partnership with the Ministry in many initiatives. He also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Eng. Mohamed Nasr El-Din, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, for his continuous efforts in strengthening the bonds of fruitful cooperation with the Ministry. Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif said, "These efforts have contributed to providing a distinguished and honorable model for technical education schools; which reflects real support for the development of this vital sector, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and comes within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to spread the system of applied technology schools that aim to provide distinguished technical and vocational education, combining theoretical and applied aspects. The Minister of Education explained that these schools seek to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to keep pace with rapid technological developments, and qualify them for the labor market with highly competitive capabilities, and represent a bridge between academic education and practical application, which contributes to preparing a generation of young people capable of innovation and creativity, pointing out that what the Egyptian Telecom Company has achieved in the field of technical education, and training and qualification programs for students and graduates of these schools is a living example that reflects its deep commitment to supporting society and empowering its members; which contributes to building a brighter and more sustainable future.
