Today, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the activities of the second day of the Economic Conference 2022, with a session entitled "A roadmap to increase the participation of the private sector in the education sector", which aims to identify opportunities and prospects for strengthening partnership with the private sector to support the educational process, including Enhance the role of development partners in promoting Egyptian public and technical education.
Yesterday, the activities of the Economic Conference 2022, which will be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, from 23-25 October, kicked off.
During his speech, Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed that the ministry launched several initiatives aimed at stimulating the private sector and investors to participate in educational projects in a way that achieves the ministry's mission and the desired investment return at the same time.
The minister added that the applied technology schools, which numbered 42 so far, are one of the successful models in the process of investing in education, as they work to link education with the needs of the labor market, especially with the creation of some professions and their exit to the job market, noting that the ministry seeks to launch More schools of applied technology in various economic and service fields, with new specializations that address future professions.
He explained that Egypt attaches importance to investing in the human element, noting that the Ministry of Education has a quarter of the population in schools, and the pre-university education system includes 25 million students in about 60,000 schools.
In his speech, the minister reviewed the plan to develop Egyptian education and change the entire educational system to shift from education to learning, noting that the goal is to develop education and bring about a revolution that puts students on the path of knowledge progress, builds students’ capabilities and acquires various life skills.
Dr. Reda Hegazy addressed the Ministry's efforts to develop investment opportunities in the field of education in cooperation and partnership with private sector institutions, noting that with regard to Egyptian-Japanese schools, which implement "tokatsu" activities, there are currently 51 schools nationwide, and it is targeted to expand. and the construction of 100 other schools that apply this model, referring in this regard to cooperation and coordination with private and international schools wishing to implement “tokatsu” activities, and the establishment of training centers to obtain a license to practice and teach those activities.
The minister also addressed the position of the Nile schools, pointing out that their number has reached 14 schools currently, and it is targeted to build 30 other schools at the level of the Republic, explaining the efforts being made to promote the Egyptian international Nile curricula internationally, through holding a number of introductory meetings with the certificate and invitation for visits A field survey for schools that implement the international educational system of the Nile, reviewing the investment position in schools in the partnership system with the private sector, of which there are currently 16 schools at the governorate level, and the goal is to build another 2,000 schools.
During the session, the minister reviewed the proposals of 28 technical education centers in 19 governorates for partnership with the private sector, explaining that the ministry is working to transform these 28 centers into distinguished technical education schools in a partnership system with the private sector.
The minister touched on the private education governance file with regard to licenses for establishing new schools, and renewing and amending licenses for existing schools by launching a platform for issuing and renewing licenses, which includes collecting fees required from all parties to pay them once online.
The 2022 economic conference aims to discuss the conditions and future of the Egyptian economy, with the participation of thinkers and specialized experts, in parallel with the national dialogue, provided that it includes incentives for the industry sector and exporters to achieve the goals, agree on the state’s economic roadmap during the coming periods, and propose clear policies and measures that contribute to increasing competitiveness. and flexible.
