Minister of Education and Governor of Aswan Inspect 6 Schools in Edfu Educational
As part of a visit to Aswan Governorate, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, inspected six schools in the Edfu Educational Administration. This visit was part of a field monitoring effort to assess the level of discipline and regularity of the educational process.
The Minister and the Governor were accompanied on the tour by Dr. Ahmed El-Mohammadi, Assistant Minister of Education for Strategic Planning and Follow-up, and Supervisor of the Central Administration for the Minister's Office.
The inspection tour included visits to Al-Qanadla Primary School (co-educational), which has 688 students; Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Preparatory School (430 students); Edfu Modern Primary School (242 students); Edfu Secondary School for Boys (924 students); Umm Al-Mu'minin Preparatory School for Girls (790 students); and Edfu Secondary School for Boys.
Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif and Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal observed the school day in various classrooms, reviewed student attendance, lesson plans, homework assignments, and the implementation of weekly assessments. They also assessed students' reading and writing skills and ensured that schools were adhering to the regulations and guidelines governing the educational process.
During a visit to Edfu Secondary School for Boys, the Minister and the Governor inspected several classrooms. Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif held an open dialogue with first-year secondary students about the Egyptian Baccalaureate system, explaining the multiple examination opportunities and diverse educational pathways it offers, which better prepare students for university admission.
The Minister also discussed programming and artificial intelligence with the students, listening to their feedback on the "Kiriu" educational platform and their understanding of it. The students confirmed their progress on the platform.
In this context, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif explained that the Ministry places great importance on enhancing students' programming, innovation, and use of modern digital tools. He noted that artificial intelligence skills have become among the most in-demand skills globally, and that integrating them into the curriculum is a pivotal step in developing the Egyptian education system.
The Minister commended the discipline and smooth operation of the educational process in the governorate's schools and the efforts made to ensure the smooth running of the academic year. He also expressed his appreciation for the governorate's efforts in developing the educational process.
For his part, Major General Dr. Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, praised the efforts of the Minister of Education in supporting and developing the educational system, stressing that these efforts have positively impacted the level of performance within schools, and emphasizing the governorate’s keenness to provide all capabilities and exert the utmost possible efforts to improve the educational process and create a suitable environment for students to increase their academic achievement.
