"Education" and "Arab Industrialization" sign a cooperation protocol to establish the Arab Organization for Industrialization School for Applied Technology
Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Lieutenant-General Abdel Moneim Ibrahim Al-Terras, President of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, signed a joint cooperation protocol to establish the Arab Organization for Industrialization School for Applied Technology in Cairo, starting from the 2022/2023 academic year.
The signing of the protocol was attended by Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister for Technical Education Affairs, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Operation and Management Unit for Applied Technology Schools, and from the Arab Organization for Industrialization, Eng. Abdel Rahman Abdel Azim, Director General of the Authority, and Dr. Marian Malak, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority For External Relations, Eng. Ashraf Khalil, Head of Human Resources Sector, and Dr. Eng. Hossam Taha, Advisor to the General Director of the Authority for Research.
Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, said that the development of technical education is one of the main pillars to achieve the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030, by graduating a student who is able to think and is technically, technically and technologically able, and able to compete locally and internationally, and wholly qualified to join the labor market upon graduation. He pointed out that the ministry prepared a strategy for the development of technical education five years ago; To make technical education an integrated and advanced system in accordance with the needs of development plans and the labor market, by establishing a quality assurance and accreditation authority, developing study programs based on a merit system, improving teachers’ skills, providing them with many training programs, engaging business owners, and changing the societal image of technical education. .
Shawky explained that the applied technology schools contributed greatly to achieving the ministry’s strategy to develop technical education in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030. Partnership with the private sector and the balance between the theoretical and practical aspects through the application of curricula based on the merits system and practical training in factories and industrial partner companies played a role Notable in developing the capabilities and skills of technical education graduates, and the Ministry witnessed the graduation of the first batch of applied technology students in the previous academic year 2020/2021. .
The Minister of Education expressed his happiness with the Arab Organization for Industrialization School for Applied Technology joining the system of applied technology schools, stressing that it will become a scientific edifice specialized in the fields of mechatronics, renewable energy, railways, welding, CNC programmed operation, and autotronics (cars), and the door for applications will be opened for enrollment. It will be announced next July via the Ministry of Education and Technical Education website, and the conditions for joining will be announced next June.
For his part, Lieutenant-General Abdel Moneim Ibrahim Al-Terras stressed the importance of participating in implementing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to develop technical education and meet the needs of industry and development, noting that technical education is Egypt's hope to achieve the next industrial shift and the workforce that operates factories.
The "Terrace" praised the initiative of the Ministry of Education and the efforts made in it to advance the national industry through the establishment of specialized technical schools for all modern professions and disciplines, which would contribute to supplying the labor market with technical employment with advanced scientific and professional specifications supported by practical application according to advanced study programs that keep pace with the developments of the labor market.
He explained that it was agreed to establish the Arab Organization for Industrialization School for Applied Technology, noting that we aim with this school to attract young people towards studying modern technology disciplines that will allow them to provide new job opportunities for graduates of technical education that address future professions.
He added that the training is carried out within the framework of advanced study programs and international standards, explaining that the duration of study at the school is three academic years, and the final exams are held at the end of the third grade, and students who succeed in the final exams are awarded a certificate of completion of the study for the technical secondary school diploma for applied technology, the three-year system from the Ministry of Education The technician, in addition to experience certificates approved by the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
Al-Terras stressed the importance of changing the Egyptian culture with regard to technical education graduates, and the necessity of concerted and cooperative state institutions to contribute to solving the problems facing Egyptian technical workers and working to raise their efficiency and competitive value in the local and Arab markets, stressing that technical education is the basis of the Egyptian industry.
On the sidelines of signing the protocol, the minister toured the electronics factory of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, during which he inspected the tablet production lines, electronic monitoring systems, and surface assembly lines for board and card components (SMT), which includes three production lines.
