During a meeting of the Education Committee of the House of Representatives Minister of Education: The development of education is a state issue
Today, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the meeting of the Education Committee in the House of Representatives, headed by Dr. Sami Hashem, in the presence of a number of members of the committee, and a number of deans of faculties of education.
At the beginning of the session, Dr. Sami Hashem welcomed Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education.
In his speech, the minister stressed that the development of education is a state issue and we are continuing to work to improve the educational process, develop teachers' skills and improve performance by adopting strategies that support innovation and ensure quality in education.
The minister said that the school is the natural place for teaching and learning; In which all educational activities are implemented, noting that the Ministry seeks to provide a distinguished educational system; It will achieve the sustainable development goals, stressing that the strategic goal is the return of students to schools and has been achieved.
Hegazy stressed that private lessons have been a reality for decades and are a symptom of a disease and we have to treat the disease, noting that what was discussed about legalizing private tutoring centers is a proposal and not a decision, and it was misinterpreted, and that it was put forward for community dialogue with the aim of listening to all opinions regarding reducing the number of centers Private lessons "The Senators".
He continued, "The ministry will take many measures to activate the role of reinforcement groups within schools to ensure that students continue in the educational process to combat the phenomenon of private tutoring and reduce the burden on parents."
The Minister pointed out the importance of the teacher's role in upgrading the educational process, and that the Ministry is working to build teachers' capacities and sustainable professional development for them; To acquire skills capable of absorbing the new education system and effecting change.
The Minister stressed the need for the teacher to be aware of assessment and teaching practices and the preparation of test vocabulary; To develop higher levels of thinking, and in this regard, 5,000 teachers will be trained on the new system.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the measures taken by the Ministry to develop the educational system, as the Ministry aimed to return students to school, and to restore the school's social role in nurturing and preparing students for the future, and to be attractive and enjoyable for learning.
The minister touched on integrating technology into the academic program through educational channels viewing sessions in schools through “Our School (1, 2, 3)” and the availability of time to practice activities of various kinds in cooperation with the ministries of youth, sports and culture.
Dr. Reda Hegazy explained that with regard to the General Secondary Certificate exams, the specifications of the exam paper have been completed, as the exam paper includes multiple-choice questions (MCQ) and the return of short essay questions at a rate not exceeding 15% according to the nature of each study subject, indicating that it will be Training 5,000 teachers on the new system, teaching practices, and how to prepare test vocabulary at this level.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of a number of issues related to the educational process, and a review of the Ministry's vision regarding them.
