Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, participated in the activities of the Rakaez Conference in its third session under the slogan "Sustainable Education is the Future", which is organized by the Sharjah Education Council from 12-13 October.
The conference sessions were attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education in the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Dr. Saeed Mosbeh Al Kaabi is a member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council, and a number of education experts.
The minister gave a presentation in the main session of the Egyptian state’s efforts to develop the educational process, during which he stressed that out of the state’s belief in the paramount importance of the education file, it adopted the national project for the development of education, which aims to prepare a new vision for the educational community as a whole, to make the student more receptive to learning and innovation.
Hegazy said that the ministry launched the new educational system to provide students with future skills, as the ministry began to develop a framework for the new curricula, noting that the ministry has an ambitious plan to change the rest of the curricula at various school levels.
He pointed out that the new curricula in the early stages of the school years enhance opportunities to put young people on the path towards future skills and personal development, pointing out that in conjunction with the development of curricula, comprehensive rehabilitation and training programs for teachers are also being worked on to teach the new curricula.
He explained that the trainings for teachers continue throughout the school year on a specific philosophy that defines exploration, then learning, then application, to express the new learning method, and is accompanied by a book with abundant content, so that students acquire certain skills that consolidate values ​​and morals, develop a love of knowledge, and distance from memorization and indoctrination. The role of the teacher in motivating students to learn is the most important role in the system.
Hijazi addressed the mechanisms of achieving integration between technology and education during the current academic year, through the application of viewing periods for educational channels "Our School (1, 2, 3)" in various stages of education, which will contribute effectively to providing sufficient time; To engage in activities of all kinds, and to contribute to discovering and nurturing talented people.
He continued, "Multiple educational platforms have been created that include curricula for basic education, stressing that the content is available to every student for free."
He also touched on the challenges of the current education system, including student density and infrastructure, explaining that the new system includes providing digital content for all school years, in addition to developing curricula, reducing density, providing students with new skills, building personality, identity and belonging, and following the best teaching methods. Emphasis on learning skills.
The conference aims to reveal the role that research plays in shaping the future of education and motivating minds to chart the jobs of tomorrow, in response to global changes in work environments, benefiting from information related to the future of education through scholars, researchers and specialists, and bridging the gap between the current practices used in teaching and learning and future practices.
