Today, Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Nevin Gamea, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between Egypt Gold for the manufacture of gold and jewelry and HRD Antwerp.
In the presence of Major General Abdel Hamid El Hagan, Governor of Qalyubia, Ambassador Francois Cornet Delsius, Ambassador of Belgium in Cairo, Raafat Nassar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Egypt Gold, Ms. Sherine Hamdy, Advisor to the Minister for Administrative Development and Head of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister's Office, and Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education and Director of the Operational and Management Unit for Applied Technology Schools.
Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, expressed his happiness at attending the signing of the cooperation agreement between Egypt Gold for the manufacture of gold and jewelry, which is an Egyptian joint stock company, and HRD Antwerp, which is one of the largest diamond certification laboratories in the world.
The Minister of Education stressed that this agreement aims to enrich the local market with more talents and expertise in the field of gold and jewelry manufacturing, through training and learning using internationally accredited training programs, which are being applied for the first time in this field at Egypt Gold School of Applied Technology.
In this context, Dr. Tarek Shawky indicated that the technical and vocational education system within the context of the new Egyptian educational system is no longer just a traditional educational system, but rather has become an educational system with social, economic and political dimensions based on the close relationship with the labor market, stressing that the ministry does not Spare an effort in order to provide human resources with growing capabilities and efficiency, with a high degree of quality and professional ethics, with an identity that is inseparable from global trends; In order to build a society based on learning, and an economy based on knowledge, and in order to provide the skilled labor needed to build the new republic.
Dr. Tarek Shawky explained that within the framework of the plan to develop the technical education system, the ministry is keen to encourage and facilitate partnerships with employers through the establishment of applied technology schools, and one of the most prominent fruits of these partnerships is the establishment of (Egypt Gold School for Applied Technology), which aims to prepare graduates. Qualified to work in the jewelry industry at the local and international levels.
Dr. Tarek Shawky continued, that the signing of such an agreement in Egypt will have a positive role in the development of the jewelry industry in Egypt, as it is expected that it will make Egypt Gold for the jewelry industry one of the first Middle Eastern companies in the field of evaluating diamonds and precious stones.
The Minister of Education said that all this educational and economic movement aims to improve the process of technical education in Egypt, especially this industry, as Egypt Gold Company was the first to establish the first applied technology school to learn the jewelry and jewelry industry in Egypt and the Middle East.
Dr. Tarek Shawky concluded his speech by saying that the ultimate goal of that thought and commendable effort is to seek a better future for the Egyptian economy, and to return Egypt to its natural and historical place among the countries of the developed world.
For her part, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala Al-Saeed confirmed that the development of technical schools comes within the state's development plan, noting that working in the middle of workshops, training and rehabilitation is of great importance for the future of students, which will benefit the future of the Egyptian economy.
The Minister of Planning expressed her happiness with what she saw inside Egypt Gold School, which comes within the plan to develop technical education, explaining that we had a problem, which is that traditional specializations are being graduated that do not fit with the labor market, and to change the culture of society towards distinguished technical education, it was necessary to link this Education by industry, and Egypt Gold School is a vivid example of development in the technical education system.
Commenting on this event, Raafat Nassar, Board Member of Egypt Gold, said: “This cooperation comes as a continuation of our strong relationship with the Belgian HRD Foundation, but this time the cooperation includes unprecedented visions that will have a great resonance on the diamond industry in Egypt in terms of providing learning opportunities. And the recovery of trade as a whole after Egypt becomes a major center for trade and appraisal of diamonds.
For her part, Elaine Junicher, managing director of HRD, confirmed that this cooperation is an affirmation of the leading position and strategic role that the Egyptian jewelry industry has enjoyed in the region.
On the sidelines of signing the protocol, the attendees inspected the school's classes and the workshops in which the students are trained. The students praised learning this craft and their passion to learn more about this learning.
It is worth noting that the area of ​​the school is 9,844 square meters, consisting of a 3-storey building, with 14 classrooms and student affairs offices, and includes halls, various playgrounds, and many workshops.
