The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Mujahid, Deputy Minister for Technical Education, Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for the Development of Technical Education, Director of Employment and Management of Applied Technology Schools, Dr. Mohamed Emara, Head of Technical Education Sector, and a number of journalists responsible for covering education news.
During the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Mujahid reviewed the ministry's plan to develop technical education, stressing that the development of technical education aims to achieve economic development and also stems from the 2014 constitution, and there is a subject that was allocated to develop technical education, which is the curriculum that the ministry is going on in developing technical education to meet the needs of the market Work to achieve economic development that needs skilled artwork.
He pointed out that the development of technical education is carried out according to international standards and student certificate is internationally approved in order to obtain a real job opportunity, and political leadership senses young people to enroll in technical education and also its continuous development, explaining that 5 years ago the ministry began to develop technical education, pointing out that the development of The curricula started in 2018, with the help of many European and Egyptian parties from the industrialists, experts were used, and the curricula of 40 professions were developed in September 2019, and the new curricula were applied in 105 schools in 2019.
He continued: "The teachers were trained until they make sure that the student gained skills, and 23 thousand students were graduated according to the system of struggles, and it was also confirmed that these students acquired the system of walls through the involvement of industrialists in the exams, which is the one that allows the student to be tempted or not It acquires the required skills, and by the new school year, 80% of technical education curricula will be developed, and skills and walls will be applied in 850 schools next September.
The Deputy Minister of Education stressed that within the axes of the strategy of developing technical education, changing the mental image of the community on technical education, pointing out that in 2014, technical education was evaluated and then it resulted in a subject in the constitution on technical education, explaining that changing the mental image is done From changing technical education outcomes, stressing that there are challenges in developing technical education and the ministry will work on them in the future.
In his speech, Dr. Mohamed Moussa Amara, head of the technical education sector, explained that the framework for study programs for students of technical schools has been unified, in addition to unifying the methodology, as the representatives of the labor market were participating in setting curricula, study programs and walls and participating in reviewing the study units as well as the process of evaluating students and providing opportunities Final training for students.
Amara added, that there are programs and specializations that have been created in technical education, including artificial intelligence, gold and jewelry, suitable for the needs of the labor market, stressing that by September 2024, the update of study programs that are applied in technical schools will be completed, and also teachers training will include skill and technical exercises and teaching methods .
He pointed out that work has been worked to raise the efficiency of technical school teachers who participated in formulating study programs for technical education schools, adding that some study programs were canceled and some programs were created and expanded in other programs, and to provide teachers with other skills and teaching methods to break the boredom of the classroom so that the teaching process is It is based on the student's participation and interaction during teaching, and the developers of study programs were expanded, as they numbered 1,000 members.
Dr. Amr Basila, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Education Development and Director of the Employment and Management of Applied Technology Schools, said that the development of technical education is done with the participation of the private sector and cannot be done away from the private sector, and then a different model for technical education, which is applied technology schools, has been created where its number has reached 46 schools currently work from 38 schools.
Basila added that the other successful experiences of the countries came through the participation of the private sector, and many sectors benefit from graduates of technical education, hence the Egyptian plan in establishing applied technology schools, where the number of these schools reaches 46 schools in the next school year, adding that These schools give the student an academic diploma alongside an international certificate.
He pointed out that there is a very big contribution to the issue of digital transformation, where the student can obtain and explore the various educational models with technical education so that he can choose what suits it and there is a huge effort that takes place within technical education, stressing that the development in technical education is quantity and how.
He explained that there is a new model in technical education, which are the centers of excellence and the German side participates, which is a group of companies working together in one field, adding that the future plan is to reach 27 excellence centers along with 300 applied technology schools.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Education and Technical Education organizes the "Education Salon" with the aim of raising awareness and spreading knowledge of the efforts that the Ministry is working on to develop public and technical education during the coming period, which comes within the Egyptian state's plan to develop education in Egypt.
