Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, held today at the Ministry's general office a meeting with the directors of educational directorates at the level of the Republic; To discuss the preparations for the new academic year 2022/2023, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Daher, Deputy Minister for Technological Development, and Dr. Muhammad Mujahid, Deputy Minister of Technical Education.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sherine Hamdi, the Minister's advisor for administrative development and supervisor of administration for the affairs of the Minister's office, and a number of leaders of the Ministry of Education.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Reda Hegazy welcomed the attendees, stressing that education is a national responsibility and that success in achieving and advancing its goals depends on concerted governmental and non-governmental efforts at all levels, supported by the political leadership.
The minister pointed out that the directors of the governorates are partners in developing the educational process, pointing out that the work within the ministry is an institutional work that is linked to cooperation between the ministry and directors of the directorates on the one hand, and between the authorities and institutions in the relevant ministries on the other hand.
He explained that the directors of the directorates have an important role during the coming period to overcome the obstacles facing the educational process, pointing out that the development of education and the return of the school to its true role and the return of students to it is our role now, and we must work on the discipline of the educational process and early preparation for the new school year 2022/2023.
Hegazy stressed the need to follow up on the completion of the comprehensive maintenance work for schools and to be virtually assured of their readiness to receive the new school year, pointing out the need to activate the school discipline regulation, and to follow up on the schools’ commitment to implement it, as a ministerial decision is currently being prepared.
The minister made it clear that there is no going back and that what has been achieved during the previous period will be built on and invested without excluding anyone in the development process, maximizing successful experiences and benefiting from them and working to create convictions among those concerned with the educational process that they are partners in development for the benefit of the student and building his personality, which is a priority for the Ministry. He affirmed the ministry's participation with all parties concerned with the development of education to create a critical mass that manages change and development in the field.
With regard to the curricula, the minister stressed that the new curricula help the student to think critically, manage knowledge and obtain it in light of the digital transformation and the multiplicity of educational sources such as digital platforms and tablets, and integrating them with the student’s study program to help him understand the lessons, noting that short tests will be conducted using the tablet at intervals. Varying time to ensure that the student is on the right track.
Dr. Reda Hegazy touched on the teacher and his important role in upgrading the educational process, and training him on the new education system and his philosophy so that he has a deep understanding of the curriculum and can deliver the information to the student in the desired way.
The minister stressed that the teachers’ training package was instructed by the directors of all educational materials in cooperation with the directors of all subjects in the educational directorates, noting the importance of training teachers on the specifications of the new system’s tests.
The minister stressed that in the interest of the students, a specialized committee will be formed from the teachers of the faculties of education for measurement and evaluation to discuss the mechanism of evaluating students in the secondary stage, and to take the necessary measures based on the report of the committee to serve the interest of the student, and for the student to be aware of how to evaluate him before the start of the new school year .
In a related context, the minister affirmed that technical education is the locomotive of progress, noting that the ministry has begun applying the competencies that qualify for the labor market, involving the owners of industries and institutions in the process of evaluating students, and working to expand the schools of applied technology due to the great demand for them for the education they provide. Distinguished in partnership with the private sector.
Dr. Reda Hegazy stressed that the country's political leadership is interested in discovering and nurturing the talented and talented in all subjects and school activities and refining their skills in all disciplines, in cooperation with the relevant relevant ministries and competent authorities.
The Minister of Education added that the ministry is working on a major project "Egypt's Distinguished Schools" to be implemented in official schools of languages, and it will make a leap in education because it will be smart schools equipped with a technological infrastructure and spaces to practice activities to prepare a generation capable of knowledge.
The minister explained that the political leadership directed an increase in the number of Egyptian-Japanese schools during the coming period, pointing out that the essence of Japanese education is compatible with the development system in Egypt, and this is the basis for the implementation of the Egyptian-Japanese school project.
The minister also stressed that international governmental schools were established to provide distinguished education with appropriate expenses in partnership with the private sector to prevent monopolizing this type of education, noting that private and international schools in Egypt are an important pillar in the ministry.
Minister of Education, Dr. Reda Hegazy, also directed the directors of educational departments to hold periodic meetings through which to listen to the suggestions and visions of parents, teachers and students on the development of the educational system, and to work on developing solutions to problems that may arise during the course of the study.
