The Professional Academy for Teachers and the "Egypt Workforce" project launch new accreditation standards for training programs, trainers and training centers for technical education
Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Professional Academy for Teachers, Dr. Reda Hegazy, Deputy Minister for Teacher Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Megahed, Deputy Minister of Education for Technical Education Affairs, the Professional Academy for Teachers signed in cooperation with the funded “Egypt Workforce” project. From the US Agency for International Development, a memorandum of understanding to support and implement project activities related to the professional development of technical education teachers in all fields.
The memorandum of understanding was signed between Dr. Mohamed Gad Ahmed, Director of the Professional Academy for Teachers, and Mr. Joseph Ghanem, Director of the Egypt Workforce Project funded by the US Agency for International Development, in the presence of a group of specialists from the academy and the project.
The memorandum of understanding aims to support and implement the activities of the Egypt Manpower Project in the field of training and qualification of a group of main trainers and their accreditation, preparing and approving a set of training packages, and qualifying a group of teachers to obtain a certificate of validity in accordance with the relevant standards in cooperation with the Professional Academy for Teachers. The cooperation of the Professional Academy also aims to For teachers with the “Egypt Workforce” project to prepare technical education teachers well to be able to provide students with the competencies that qualify them to integrate effectively in the labor market, as well as to provide a distinguished administration that manages technical schools according to modern school management frameworks, to support and develop education, and to achieve its quality in a way that contributes to The highest rates of development, by relying on pillars: quality, alignment of programs with the needs of the labor market, upgrading the efficiency of teachers and trainers, engaging employers, and changing the societal view of technical education.
The project is implementing a number of activities in coordination with the Professional Academy for Teachers, including holding workshops to prepare new standards for accrediting professional development services for technical education (training programs, trainers, and training centers) and creating and developing a set of training programs according to the merit-based education system and its approval.
The project also qualifies a group of master trainers in the educational, specialized and digital education fields to obtain accreditation in the field of training in cooperation with the Professional Academy for Teachers. .
In the interest of the Egypt Manpower Project to develop the skills of technical education teachers, raise the efficiency of the Egyptian labor market, support the Egyptian economy, and improve job opportunities by bridging the gap between market requirements and technical education graduates, as well as upgrading the skills of young people in the target age group (especially females, the project was bold In creating cooperation opportunities with experts in the field of education and training, especially the Professional Academy for Teachers, as the body responsible for granting certificates of authority necessary for appointment and promotion, supporting professional development for teachers, and accrediting professional development services.
On the other hand, the Professional Academy for Teachers is preparing new standards for the accreditation of professional development services for technical education (training programs, trainers, and training centers) and participating in the development of training programs according to the methodology of competency-based education to support the professional development of teachers of technical education, school administration and technical guidance in cooperation with the Project Egypt's workforce.
The academy must also accredit the training programs that are developed and the training centers that are established by the Egypt Workforce Project that meet the new accreditation standards, as well as the trainers who are prepared through the Egypt Workforce Project, including the main trainers in all disciplines, and finally a certificate of passing the programs is issued The training implemented by the Egypt Manpower Project in cooperation with the Professional Academy of Teachers after paying the fees established by the certificate applicant. A coordinating committee will be formed from the Academy and the project to undertake planning and coordination for the implementation of all work and activities headed by the Director of the Professional Academy for Teachers and two members from the Academy.
Notably, the successful partnership between the Professional Academy for Teachers and the USAID-funded Workforce Improvement and Skills Enhancement project has opened many closed doors for teachers and enhanced training opportunities, and continued to provide support and accreditation for technical education teachers.
