Within the framework of the Egyptian-Japanese Partnership for Education "EJEP", the sixth meeting of the steering committee for the partnership between the Egyptian and Japanese sides was held yesterday, Sunday, in the presence of Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Dr. Hani Hilal, Secretary General of the Committee and former Minister of Higher Education.
On the Japanese side, Ambassador Noki Masaki, the Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Matsunaga Hideki, Director General of the Middle East and Europe Department of the Japanese International Cooperation Authority (JICA), who is currently visiting Egypt, and Mr. Omura Yoshifumi, Head of JICA office in Egypt, in addition to a number of representatives of ministries and officials Governments from both sides.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the progress achieved in various existing projects under the umbrella of the partnership, including the Egyptian Japanese Schools "EJS", the human resource development project that includes scholarship programs for Japan, the Egyptian Japanese University of Science and Technology "E-JUST", in addition to technical education and childhood development projects. Early.
The two sides praised the tangible progress and joint cooperation between the two sides in the field of education, higher education and early childhood, which includes many successful models that have great support from the political leadership.
The two sides agreed to make more efforts in the coming period in order to achieve the goals of joint cooperation, and also to overcome the challenges posed by the emerging coronavirus pandemic.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian-Japanese Education Partnership "EJEP" was announced by the two heads of state in 2016, which includes all levels of education in Egypt, which contributes to the ongoing efforts made by the government to develop education; The Partnership Steering Committee and the two Executive Committees emanating from it have been formed according to a presidential decision, and the committees are held periodically in order to take the necessary decisions and approvals, as well as discuss aspects of joint cooperation between the two sides in the various stages of education.
