Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, received Major General Mohamed El-Zamlout, Governor of New Valley; to discuss ways to enhance joint efforts to develop the educational process in the governorate.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif welcomed the New Valley Governor, appreciating the governorate's efforts to advance the educational process, in addition to the importance of partnership with the governorate in a way that contributes to enhancing the state's vision towards developing education, as well as achieving integration with all concerned parties to ensure the success of the educational process.

For his part, the New Valley Governor praised the continuous support and continuous efforts of the Ministry of Education in confronting problems in accordance with the regulations governing work in order to achieve the desired goal of advancing the educational system in the governorate, stressing that the governorate cooperates with the ministry in a way that contributes to improving the quality of education and providing an appropriate educational environment for students.

The meeting witnessed a review of the governorate's efforts to ensure the regularity and discipline of the 2024/2025 academic year, in addition to the joint efforts and projects with the ministry to develop the educational process in a sustainable manner, including the opening of the IPS International Official School in the New Valley for the year 2023/2024, which is a distinguished educational model that has achieved great successes in light of the great demand for it.

The meeting also discussed the establishment of a new school for high achievers in science and technology STEM in the New Valley Governorate, as the governorate allocated a plot of land with an area of ​​9942 square meters to build the school, as well as developing the technological infrastructure of educational facilities in the governorate by installing and operating the secondary education system at the governorate level, using smart boards in schools, and linking the directorate with its affiliated educational administrations.

The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the expansion of Egyptian-Japanese schools in the New Valley Governorate, as preparations are currently underway to start establishing a school in Dakhla City, in addition to the Egyptian-Japanese School in Kharga City, which was opened in 2020 with a capacity of 14 classrooms and a facility on an area of ​​10,043 square meters, and coordination to expand this school to accommodate the increasing number of students year after year.
