The Minister of Education holds a meeting with directors of directorates and heads of committees to find out the preparations and final procedures for the general secondary exams 2023
Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education and Head of the General Secondary Examinations, held a meeting with the directors of the educational directorates and the heads of the examination committees in all governorates, via video conferencing technology. To find out the final preparations and instructions for the general secondary school exams for the academic year 2022/2023, and to ensure the smooth conduct and regularity of the exams, which are scheduled to start tomorrow, Monday, June 12.
Dr. Reda Hegazy directed that the exams this year be disciplined, indicating that the Ministry has taken many measures for the examination system in order for each student to take his right, in order to achieve the principle of justice, equal opportunity and transparency.
The minister reassured that all final preparations for all educational directorates for the general secondary exams had been completed, and that strict measures were taken to prevent cheating, stressing that committees proven not to be cheated would be rewarded, and committees that were found to be cheated would be held accountable.
The minister said that the students who take the exam are all our children, directing the observers to the need for restraint and responsibility during the course of the exams and to work to provide calm within the committees; This is in order to preserve the interest of our students, wishing success to all students.
Dr. Reda Hegazy also confirmed that the high school exams are a national mission in order to serve our students, stressing the directors of the educational directorates and the heads of the committees of the need to adhere to the instructions for exam controls announced by the Ministry regarding holding the exam, stressing the prevention of cheating of all kinds within the committees, and not to transgress. With students who violate this and deal with them wisely and calmly, to ensure the discipline of exams.
The minister emphasized ensuring that students enter the committees without any electronic devices, such as mobile phones, headphones, smart or electronic watches, as well as that observers do not enter with mobile phones, instructing students that possession of a mobile phone is a crime even if it is closed. The need to use the electronic stick for inspection in the following cases: (during students entering, within the traffic sub-committees before distributing exam pamphlets and focusing on discs, half an hour after the start of the exam without affecting the discipline of the exam process).
The minister also stressed the need to ensure that the student records his data on the answer sheet (the bubble sheet) (and the essay question answer booklet) and the question booklet correctly, and the boxes indicating the sitting numbers are correctly shaded, and the observers review and sign them with the validity of the data, explaining by making a case proof record when abstaining. The minister also stressed the heads of the committees to warn the students that the student's answer is only counted in the answer sheet of the bubble sheet and the answer sheet of the essay questions, indicating that any answer to the question paper will not be counted.
The minister directed not to keep the booklet of questions for absent students, and to hand it over to the chairman of the committee, stressing that the student should hand over the question paper at the end of the exam, and not to collect it by observers in any way except at the end of the exam.
He also directed the minister to verify, before opening the boxes, that the information written on them is correct and complete, and to make the opening minutes. He also directed the distribution of bubble sheets, according to the procedures followed for the four forms.
The minister also directed the heads of the committees to communicate with the main operations room in the event of any problem or any crisis, to work on resolving it immediately and professionally.
The minister confirmed that the concepts booklet will be distributed to the examination committees before the exams, stressing the need to warn students not to write on the concepts booklet and not to destroy it, and to hand it over to the observers after the end of the exam daily, indicating that the concepts booklet will be used for the coming years.
The minister also stressed ensuring that workers are recycled within departments in high school committees, and strict measures are taken to prevent fraud in committees.
The minister confirmed that the various exam committees across the republic will be covered with surveillance cameras to monitor any cheating acts within the committees, and to monitor any violations in a timely manner, through the operating rooms; To ensure the discipline of exams.
It was also emphasized during the meeting that the control members were provided to participate with the committee chairmen in the process of distributing question papers, bubble sheets and essay questions, and alerting the committee chairpersons to organize the answer papers and questions for easy distribution.
Emphasis was also placed on taking all procedures and controls regulating examination work in the event of cheating, and applying Ministerial Resolution No. (34) of 2018 regarding regulating cases of exam cancellation and denial, and Law No. (205) of 2020 regarding combating acts of breaching exams.
